Albany county Pistol Permit

The pistol permit says a character reference in the capital district. Is it true you don't have to be in the same county?

That's a new one . The references have to be from the same county in Wayne and Monroe .

That is what I thought. I got mine and the references had to be in the same county. I might actually applaud them for doing that. Seems like a good idea.

If I were you I would pick up the phone and call to confirm, you are right that would be nice if they remove that restriction

I got mine in Schuyler County and you needed 4 people that where in your county. It also stated it could not be anyone in law enforcement or a local goverment if I remember correct.

Oneida County has to have four people in the county who aren't related to you and have known you for at least five years. I have talked to people who got jammed up over that because they were new to the area and didn't have four people in the county who'd known them that long.
