Hello everyone,

I'm new to hunting and I am trying to learn as much as possible.  I've been reading books and online doing research but that only gets you so far.  I've always been into outdoor activities (rock climbing, kayaking, snowshoeing etc) and now the hunting bug has bitten.  I'll try not to ask too many stupid questions that haven't already been asked, but no guarantees.  Thank you all in advance for your help.

Welcome to the site!  Great place with great people.  Ask away any questions we have many good hunters here with a large amount of knowledge.  Best advice I can give besides reading is to get out and enjoy the woods, you will lean much from books but true learning is in the woods.   Good luck!

Only stupid question was the one that wasn't asked.

Just to put it out there...I'm willing to trade services for some hands on experience.  AKA, I am looking for a mentor.  I'm a chef by trade and pretty well versed in breaking down whole animals (mostly pigs, a lot of fish)  I haven't broken down a deer  or bear yet but the muscular and skeletal systems are all very similar.
