Our current system is broken, but ObamaCare is like curing a headache by putting a bullet through your head. There are plenty of alternatives to fix our healthcare problems, but none give the government as much control, which is their main objective, and none allow special interests to make as much money, which is why they donated so much to Obama and the Democrats. Ask yourself this, Why did things work fine decades ago in the 50's and 60's, but they don't work now?" Answer: Government interference, lawyers and corporate greed. Think ObamaCare will reduce the influence of any of those things?3 points

Well the worst that could happen is a civil war over this, and if the righties lose, then theoretically we'll have a nation of only receivers. All the producers will be dead and there'll be only consumers. You can't have half takin' without half makin'. So rest assured it will correct itself, one extreme or another. P.s. I'll see ya when the smoke clears patriots.2 points

Norman Thomas, leader of the Socialist Party of America and American socialist candidate for President, in a 1944 speech said, “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” (“The day socialism comes to America.”)2 points

During the days of Joseph Stalin’s rule over Russia, in a Marxist experiment, he made an unforgettable point in front of his henchmen. Stalin said nothing, but he clutched a nearby chicken, holding it with one hand and plucking each feather off of the chicken with the other. When he was done, he set the featherless, fear-crazed chicken on the floor, with some bread crumbs in his hand he walked away. The chicken quickly raced over to him warming itself against Stalin’s pant leg. Then Stalin gave the chicken some bread crumbs and walked to the other side of the room and the chicken repeated its actions. Then Stalin said, “This is the way to rule the people. Did you see how that chicken followed me for food, even though I had caused it such torture? People are like that chicken. If you inflict inordinate pain on them they will follow you for food the rest of their lives.” (Zacharias 26-27) The American people will get what they deserve.2 points

As bad as this law is, My bigger fear is the precident that this courts decision has set. Basically it gave congress the ability to mandate any behavior they deem neccessary by simply calling it a "tax". Thanks Roberts For the law or against it, it is impossible to not see a tremendous loss of personal freedom vanished today.2 points

Taxes and penalties, on people who don't buy insurance and on employers, is how the whole thing was meant to be funded from day one. They know what they're doing. They are DIRTY BASTARDS!! Remember that. They they will do anything to push their agenda and they think you are stupid and that only they know whats best.1 point

So let me see if I understand. I will start on a company level, Company XYZ has done some homework and finds that it is much cheaper to pay the penalty(ooops I mean tax) than to provide health coverage for there employees. So not only does the company pay into the government for this the employees will to for not having "adequate" health coverage. So that piece of shit we call our president not only gets penalties payed ( darn it I mean tax) in to the government for individuals but companies as well. Well unless you happened to be a Obama supporting company then you might get the Admit One ticket. SO due tell me who the hell wins in this situation? Its certainly not the employees or the working class americans in this country, Its the government and the welfare class that win. This is a joke a complete udder joke. When half or more of you yay sayers lose your health coverage from your employer you will think different about this. The thing that is left wide open is exacally what is ADEQUATE health coverage in Obamas Plan? There is no reason to be a working american other than self pride any longer. Why is there? When you can get a free ride through life on the curtails of the working class americans. Im sick over this.1 point

For me it starts with the most basic premiss in this case being flawed.. That is that it is the govt. responsability to make sure every american has health care. No i'm sorry but that is not a role of the Federal Government. That is an entitlement. Maybe at the state level the people can decide whether they want their tax money to go towards that but not on a national level. History has proven time and time again, that there is nothing the feds can do better or more efficiently or without levels of corruption that the private sector can't do better. Eg. postal service, social security, medicare, energy ect... There are plans out there but they never get reported on because we have already accepted that national healthcare is the way to go and that will always mean political fighting, devision and waste. Common sense de-regulation, open the market to compitition across state lines and allow the people to shop for their insurance like we do now for autos. And allow incentives and tax credits for low income people to purchase their own economy plans voluntarily. Affordable healthcare for all. All these will lower costs and spurr private industry growth and good paying middle class jobs.1 point

I'd have already hung that stand after I seen them head that way twice. I have a 10 acre woodlot I hunt...and I have 7 stands in it....7! I always have a stand ready to go during the season if I need to move....either a dedicated stand or my LW setups. The real issue with this practice is overhunting a parcel...just because you have stands, doesn't mean that it's OK to overhunt it. I sincerely doubt deer know anything about ladderstands unless the humans cause them to, and by that I mean, ladderstands are easy to access and climb and are often overhunted because of convenience. More hunting = equal more scent left behind = more likely the deer will be alerted to your presence while there and after you are gone. As long as a laddderstand has adequate cover, then the stand itself has no bearing on the deer...it's the methods and humans behind that stand that cause it. 90% of "regular joe" hunters who have the option between a ladder and a hang-on will choose the ladder for convenience. I've even seen people who know better do this - people who practice scent control, wind direction, etc. The convenience factor can be damaging.1 point

You can be sure that so called "green" products will be next on the list of mandated items. Energy efficient autos and homes.too.1 point

It's not really on topic, but I have to comment on this notion that unhealthy habits cost us more money. I have yet to be convinced that people with unhealthy habits and lifstyles cost us anywhere near what it costs to keep all the health nuts for years and years on their preventive medication and procedures and then eventually in nursing homes for decades. Anyone ever consider what the alternatives are to people dying early from their health neglect. Does anyone think that it is not a super costly venture to be constantly expanding the life expectancy. I love the term preventive health care .... as if you can actually cheat death and prevent inevitable health problems. The only real difference is that the ones with bad health habits leave us sooner. It's all a question of timing, and longer is not cheaper. Sure it's nice that we can maybe add a few years onto our lives and enjoy some extra time here, but let's not think that the benefit is in anyway financial. I don't believe it for a minute.1 point

From Roberts himself!! The chief justice, while he may take heat from his conservative peers for the ruling, said the decision on the wisdom of the law will ultimately be left to the voters. "We do not consider whether the act embodies sound policies," he wrote. "That judgment is entrusted to the nation's elected leaders." Roberts went on to say the court's role is to interpret the law, not make policy judgments which is for lawmakers "who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices." Now lets see if this wakes up Americans or not. If the government can tell you that you have to have insurance what else can they cram up your arse!! And I gaurantee they are getting the biggest bottel of KY ready as I write this!!!1 point

I'm wondering what anyone is doing about the preservation of freedom in this case. The law stands and nobody will do anything about it. Where is anybody preserving freedom? The only way to preserve freedom is to throw off the current government. In fact it is our duty.1 point

We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names liberty and tyranny.” -Abraham Lincoln (Basler 4031 point

I am still standing beside myself scratching my head how this president has turned this country upside down. What scares me the most is how much he is holding back in hopes of getting re-elected. I am damn scared as to what his next 4 year plan is all about because I dont think we have even seen the begining of his socialist antics. Im sick just thinking about it. This jackass we have in the whitehouse is a discrace to this country and every man and women who have fought for our freedom. I cannot believe Obamacare was accepted. How can anyone be proud to call him our president is so far beyond anything I can fathom. I witness and personally know (ashamed to admit that) people and even a family member that are perfectly capable of getting off there ass and getting a job to support there family. But under Obama there is even less reason to do so. He has given our children no reason to be succesful when he puts absolute bullshit like this in our face. You are far more wealthy to have Obama hand you everything you need to take care of your family if you are an absolute bum and lazy SOB. I am ANGRY< PISSED OFF AND SICK to see this ass some call our president ruin this country. Mexico is looking like a better place to be in the near future if this ass gets re-elected. Hell when he gives them all a free pass to america we are going to have to move there to get a job. Im going to go puke now.1 point

I paid $400 a month for med ins. up untill passage of bammer care! TheCompany I work for said they could no longer afford the plan we were on so they went down to a cheaper one that costs me around 360 a month. Only problem is it only covers a 1/4 of what they charge me. I can no longer pay my bills for medical. Before ins paid alot of it so I could keep up now I cant. And the cost is suppose to go up next yr for the same coverage I get now. So all I can say to Bammer is. :fuckyou: :fuck:1 point

I just dug into the bottom of my chest freezer and found 2 packages of 2009 venison and let me tell you it tasted just as good off the grill as the 2011 steak cooked right next to it, and yep it was all in vacumed sealed bags.1 point

Yeah, great idea, try it out and then try to fix it after it bankrupts our country. Nice plan. BTW, Romney is anything but a Conservative, he is only the lesser of two evils, maybe.1 point

Spent about 8 hours today getting myself up to speed on corn plantings and found some great web-sites and tutorials from Ohio State Univ and Univ of Missouri. Also spent time speaking with Stanton Ag and got some real world advice from local farmers. Not exactly the way me or my wife expected me to spend one of my vacation days this week. oopps.. What i found was that G-man and Splitg2 could teach at either one of these schools. I don't have to impliment this new knowledge til next year but i'll be ready with a new game plan in 2013. Thanks for the seeds of knowledge.1 point

Another dagger struck on the heart of Freedom. If you love bureaucracy, if you love ridiculous 2600 page long documents, if you like seeing 90% of your tax money used wasted and not going to what it is supposed to, if you like having government people making your important personal decisions, then you are happy. If you have little regard for freedom you are happy! Health care can be fixed, its costs reduced and the poor covered but only by getting the wasteful government out of the way and allowing allowing the private sector to work with minimal regulation where useful and relevent. If you thought TARP (it is estimated on 6 cents of every dollar provided the publicized relief) was a waste and a failure, stay tuned!!1 point

Romney is already spouting that if elected he will repeal the mandate on day one of office. Promises . . . Promises . . . What do you all think? I think that Romney will promise to do whatever it takes to get elected- even if it means promising to repeal a plan that he came up with in the first place.1 point

The scary thing is that it was probably intentionally done to make guns look bad and help bammer start his anti gun campaign. Luckily it backfired and Holder screwed it all up and got some law enforcement officers and a couple thousand mexicans killed with American government help, and they have been trying to sweep it under the rug ever since. And I think Bammer is going to end up throwing Holder under the bus too. Still grinning!!!1 point

Holder isnt out of the woods yet, Obama has just slowed down the process. He has also made things pretty obvious as to what is going on here.1 point

So there you have it. There is no way that hunters can get involved with any organization without being torn apart by controversy. It finally has come to me that we as hunters are incapable of getting along with each other on any subject or maintaining any organization that is capable of getting any significant hunter support. When I look at our advocacy groups and the way hunters nit-pick them to death, this little controversy really comes as no surprise at all. Why should it? It is staffed, run and comprised of hunters. As far as I am concerned, neither of these organizations or any of their spawned off wannabes need to exist anyway. Measuring hunting success by the numbers is a foolish waste of time and effort anyway. But all this does highlight the sorry state of hunters to come to agreements on anything at all. I wonder if the anti-hunter organizations have all this in-fighting and nit-picking nonsense going on all the time?1 point
