  2. The 7mm-08 will probably be the next hunting rifle I buy. I currently use 30-.06 and there is nothing wrong with it but when I have a scratch to itch it will probably be the 7mm-08 that will do it. It will certainly be more enjoyable to shoot at the range that's for sure. I thought about the 6.5 Creedmoor as well but after seeing some less than stellar performance in person it's no longer on the list.

  3. Those tree butt growths are called burls and they can get big and be worth a lot of money if they are not rotten especially from Cherry or Walnut trees. The grain inside can be beautiful. makes for great decorative items such as handgun grips, knife scales etc. Al

As will a .30-06, .308, .30-30, 7MM Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, etc. etc. And of course there are still new cartridges coming out every day it seems that claim to be better than any of the older ones. All BS in my opinion and only brainwashing people into thinking they need to buy something new that will work better. A guy who knows how to hunt and can shoot straight will kill deer with any of them just the same.
