  1. Went to my favorite spot. Was in at 5:12 first gobble from roost 5:35. There were actually 4 Toms roosted around me. First one flew down and started to walk towards me. At 30 yards I let him have it! Man was I excited. Had to put a stick across his neck and he was done. Going to have him mounted. Ended up being 17 lbs 8.5 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. Real beautiful bird.

  2. If you heard them at 100 yds and you were in the cover of a blind you couldn't be in a better place. Go light on the calling and use different calls because once they tag you as a fake you're outta luck. At first light or even later if you hear them sounding off at a great distance then yes close the gap between you and them and find a good tree to sit by (running and gunning it's called). Good camo and face covering and no movement is a must when they're moving in to your calling. Remember they see way better than we do and can pick you out way before you even know their there

  3. Is it worth going out late morning like 7 sometimes that’s the only time I can get out
