  1. As much as it would suck, what if NY shut down for 2-3 weeks? Aside form the financial ramifications, would that actually help? Total quarantine for a duration long enough to kill the virus? My kids schools were shut down for 2 weeks as of Friday afternoon. Yesterday we were told it is now until April 1st. This is with no confirmed cases in this district but one in a neighboring district. Have a meeting today at work to discuss this virus situation and how it will effect us. I can easily do my job from home but don't have remote access. Hope it comes today! Not panicking, just looking forward to no commute and no interaction with the rest of our dirty populous. lol Seriously, I am a service manager for a pretty big HVAC outfit (aside from some other things, Kung Fu instructor, part time personal body guard, charter capt - which is all on hold now!) and if one of our customers needs service, we have to go. We deal with a major part of the Hamptons crowd and they are all coming out here to escape the city. The techs are all being told to be as careful as possible: soap and water, Purell, distancing, etc. But what happens if someone has a confirmed case and has no heat or hot water? How is my boss going to expect me to send my guys into harms way? Hasmat suits to do a service call? Really?? I have already issued personal respirators, facial splash shields, and exam gloves. What more can I do to make sure they are safe, other than make them stay home? Not all of them can survive without getting a weekly paycheck. So now maybe you can understand me questioning if total shut down is a good idea, however impractical. Any thoughts?
  2. Perhaps I misunderstood. Sometimes the lack of inflection in text can really change the meaning of a statement. Take something simple like, "I didn't say I kick my dog" Every time you change the emphasis from one word to another in this statement, the overall meaning changes. Try it. Anyway, sorry for my misunderstanding.
  3. Same here. I want an AR-10 in .308 for my next rifle. I will be following, also. @moog5050 are you suggesting a .308 is not a good deer round? I don't want one for deer, more for hog.
  4. I am blessed with a neighborhood where there are more deer running around than kids. I already told my wife, if needed, I would harvest from the neighborhood. If this was real life or death, I would take anything I could, including the neighbor's pets. I would butcher my neighbor's deer for him, but only if he shot it with a Matthews @NockednLoaded
  5. Ok, let's start it...it has to be said... I keep hearing everyone commenting on the "warmer weather" hopefully killing off some of this virus....Do we not realize that is why they keep hospitals cold? In all likelihood, this virus will thrive in warmer weather.
  6. Its the weekend playground of the wealthy. The millionaires are the "poor" folks out there.
  7. Yeah, my lawn may catch Thyme disease lol
  8. Tree rats fighting back??? Maybe I won't eat the cat. lmao
  9. The first mow will be as soon as I call the landscaper. He does an awesome job. I enjoy leaving for work thinking, "the grass needs to be cut" and then returning home and its done, through no effort of my own lol. Lazy or brilliant...you decide. I prefer to think its a bit of both hahaha.
  10. All schools in Nassau and now Suffolk closed for 2 weeks, as of now. You shoulda seen the look on my 12 y/o face when he realized he still had schoolwork to do. Shoulda seen the look on my wife's face when SHE realized he still had schoolwork to do lol.
  11. WOW!! Haven't checked this thread since Friday morning, just read 11 pages of wtf to catch up. This is not the apocalypse ppl, but some sure are acting like it is. Granted, this is no (longer) a laughing matter. I admit poking fun a bit in the beginning. But srsly, I think the paranoia and the overreacting by most, is probably worse than the virus at this point. You would think the cure was found on TP or something. I'm glad I know how to hunt. I have been stocking up on bird seed. The squirrels love it and it keeps them near...just in case. They really do eat dog and cat in Asia....just sayin. Here kitty, kitty, kitty.
  12. I bet he IS considering this....he is prob thinking this will mean more Dem votes if he makes a run for president. Why do you think he gave illegals drivers licenses?
  13. Why would I fight anyone trying to give me hand sanitizer?? I have been selling Purell for $50 a gram.
  14. An assistant to Nancy Pelosi told her she had a fantastic dream last night. There was a humongous parade in Washington, D.C.. celebrating Pelosi. Millions lined the parade route, cheering when Nancy went past. Bands were playing; children were throwing confetti into the air; there were balloons everywhere. It was the biggest celebration Washington had ever seen. Nancy was very impressed and said, "That's really great! By the way, how did I look in your dream? Was my hair okay?" Her assistant said, "I couldn't tell, the casket was closed."
  15. I would love to but I have to work and you are like 20 hours away. I will be with you in spirit!
  16. Anytime. PM me when ur coming out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. DEC has a great stocking program here. I'm hoping to post up some big holdover bows and browns soon. We also have brookies but they are usually on the small side.
  18. Trout stocking started. I think I need to self quarantine for 2 weeks lol.
