That’s what I’m thinking .. it’s so weird .. we see deer down there a lot this time of year but usually they take off like a shot

So my wife takes our dog for a walk today on my hunting property. They get down near my box blind which has a strip of woods behind it and open fields on the other sides . There is a deer standing there ... so my dog doesn’t know what to think , she walks over to it and the deer just puts its head down like it wants to play. My wife gets about 10 ft away .. The deer finally walks across the field and my dog is following . The deer keeps stopping and looking at the dog.. Again my dog thinks it’s play time but keeps her distance . The deer walks kinda trots about another 50 yards and drops .. My wife goes to it and lifts its nose out of the snow ... When I got home about 3 hours later I went to look on my 4 wheeler .. There it lays dead ... it’s a buck but had shed... Looked like a little bloody discharge around its snapper ... I didn’t look real skinny but not nice and fat either .... It did seem like it’s lower abdomen was full.. Hit by a car ??? It was about 150 yards off the road

I may look at a couple of these

Almost better off leaving unlocked with a note inside asking them to please not do any damage ... And have a cell camera where they can’t see it ... or have the camp be a motor home or camper that you take home

Almost worth hiring a local to police it for a small fee, and have cell cameras

I’d like to buy land with a cabin but we are in the process of looking forward a house near us... once I find the right place then I was going to look near us wonder how people that buy a place not near them keep trespassers at bay when they are not around all the time or keep people from breaking into the camp

The guy at BPS told me people are buying any and all ammo they see on the shelf weather they need it or even shoot that calibre . He said one guy wiped out a shelf early in and said he takes it to the gun auction and GunBroker and triples his money ... It’s just not right ... Covid and shutdowns started it , now girders the hoarders are making it worse

I was at Walmart today .. not one single buy except 2 boxes of 28 gauge ! I was looking for 20 gage slugs ... guy there said he would swap me some 20 slugs for some .22 Lr I couldn’t find him after that ...

Yea I doubt it will stay this way but who knows, 450k ranch houses are selling in one day for double plus assessed values

Prefer a house in or near Cayuga Cty with 50 -60 acres or more wooded hunting land. Don’t really want an old house prefer modern newer open floor plan. The market is crazy expensive and I’m willing to pay up but can’t find anything . live in a village now and hate it,, too many neighbors too close by

Ahhh I always hunt alone, this Doghouse is plenty big enough,, and I can hold it in seconds , The loud zippers is my only complaint

I can move around a lot more in a blind than a tree stand .. sleep better too
