Can someone recommend a simple solid well made grunt call. It seems almost impossible to find a decent grunt tube, seems gigantic, plastic, gimmicky grunt tubes are the trend. This ones got a wheezer, the others got a sneezer, one has a deer farting mechanism, this ones got a belching sound, this one has a compass, this one has a my girlfriend just cheated on me yelp.

That's why I thought it would be an interesting thread. When people judge bucks don't they usually do it by body? Not rack, that's kind of my point. Plus he seems like he had a good body compared to the other shed bucks....

I have. Never had success there (after first week) Seems once guns start shooting they move off the property. If you get it first one or two days would be good.

I will be out as well. Same stand as tonight. Getting in early...hoping for a change in luck. Oh and that buck was the only deer I saw all day. Came in on grunt. Still can't figure out why he spooked.

Just had a nice buck come in to 40 yards. He heard or smelt something he didnt like turned around and went back way he came. Story of the season for me. He was 10 strides from death. Damn.

Movement update: saw a bachelor group (Small six, spike, and button) feeding together on neighbors lawn when I got home from work at dusk.... Suprised to see bucks together already.. I'll be out sat and sun weather permitting

Hmm... John that's a great idea!! Never even thought of that! Bet the landowner I have permission from would be fine with that! He wasn't so fond of people shooting shotguns on his property when we got the piece a few years ago but I'm sure I can get him to go for the crossbow thing. Which one did you order?

Saw a young 7 pointer following a doe this morning driving back from my spot. Trying to get in stand wednesday afternoon if work permits. Looking to fill a bucktag with something other than a three pointer.

Nice deer!!! I can go over and hunt him if you want.... haha good luck getting him! Rattled in a 1.5 three pointer this afternoon and he stunk pretty good, think there's still some ruttin.

I always typically see less deer during a full moon. That being said my camera activity seems to correspond with the theory that during full moon phases they do move during the middle of the day...maybe to stretch their legs a bit, who knows really? I would say go in at 9:30-10 sit to 1:30-2.

My stanley went to complete crap, poured piping hott coffee in it fed days ago four hours latter it was luke warm at best. Ordered the 40oz one from thermos came in yesterday, I will report how it works tomorrow!

Season has been a series of amateur mistakes and bad luck on my part. Hoping my luck changes today. Seen six deer so far. Just had forkhorn with his nose to the ground on a does trail but didnt seem all that interested

45 when I got in stand on the island now 52. Supposed to warm up quick. Trying to stick it out till 11. So far a doe, doe & fawn, doe & fawn again, and just had a forkhorn. Nose to the ground kind of half interested following trail Doe & fawn took.
