  1. My blessings to this man's family and friends.. http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Police-Tree-stand-accident-claims-NY-man-s-life-3942136.php
  2. Each county processes their own permits and as such the costs vary slightly as do the times of processing. I understand there is a hugh backlog of permits right now because of fear of what the elections may bring in November. In Saratoga County they issue "Hunting and target only" and you must write a letter to the issuing Judge to state your cause for a "non-restricted" license. There is a process that happens prior to the Judge even seeing your files, prints, background checks, references, mhu check. All that requires time to be researched by the local municipality (local Sheriff's Office) and that depends on their staff levels. In New York that can vary greatly from county to county..... hope I help shed some light on the process......
  3. Welcome aboard.........fall is great time of the year and glad you have those family memories...they will last a life time. No matter where I am when I smell woodsmoke I think about deer camp and the fun time with family and friends.... Go outside and enjoy !!

  11. As I am loading the truck my dog decided he was ready to hunt and was in his blind watching for birds.
  12. Every year when Autumn gets here I feel that way; my trucks get filled with fall fishing equipment, waterfowl gear and then deer hunting stuff. The well organizd basement gets wrecked as I throw stuff about looking for a certain piece of gear......cool nights and early morning scouting trips fill my senses....... AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh.....hunting season is upon us.....
  13. Happy Birthday to your daughter.. It is far better to come from a "broken home" than to live in one !!!! It is refreshing to hear about the good kids out there and often times they come from outdoors families !!!
  14. Sad, but too true..........no water will produce a large die off of Kings attempting to race upstream...the fish will be stressed as soon as they enter the warm water...
  15. I have seen geese on the Hudson recenlty; just locals so far. It is possible the dredging has them disrupted from your area but doubtful if you are that far South of the actual work. As the migration starts it will be intresting to see if the birds hold at night in that area......I live North of the dredging...pm if you need more and I can help....
  16. He was located safe....thanks for the assist here.... you can delete my post if you wish.... Dan
  17. Thanks, I noticed it last night and there has been no resolution as of yet......sounds worse as time goes by. I know nothing of the total situation or any back ground info....just know we could help get the word out here better..... Dan
