A 5 year old was suspended for 10 days after he was caught with a toy cowboy cap gun on the school bus. What gets me is that according to reports he was questioned for two hours until he wet his pants before his mother was called. I would have been so up in the principal's face if that was my kid. Unfortunately kids can't be kids anymore.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of those injured and killed in the freak accident upstate in Truxton NY. Really sad . . .

I thought about buying a pool but instead I bought a house 20 years ago in a pool community. I pay $400 for the season from Memorial day through Labor Day and we can use it anytime from 12:00PM until 8:00PM. I got my money's worth over the last 20 years.
Tried a gobbler call this morning to bring a hung up gobbler closer. He was liking my hen yelps but the gobbler call turned him off and he skeddadled into the woods. Guess what call I wont be using anymore?
Had a gobbler come in out of the woods gobbling. Played him to about 70-80 yards but he hung up. As soon as I used my Tom call he went back into the woods walking away but still calling. Hoping he comes back out. Got it on my gopro! Very exciting! But now its dead quiet....
Congrats Ants! I called it quits at 10:30 and came in out of the rain for a nap. One last shot tomorrow morning. If it happens it happens, if not then I start counting down to Oct 1st.
Heard a gobble earlier and saw a tom about 500 yds away. Im hoping he'll find his way over to my side of the property. But there is a stream, brush and trees between him and my decoys. Whoever said "Patience is a virtue" is full of turkey poop!
Thanks! Sitting in the garage right now smoking a stogie praying the rain lets up tomorrow morning so the birds will come into the field. (My view from the garage)

Edit: and I'm freezing my butt off. Never thought we would have to light the woodstove on Memorial Day weekend!
I was thinking the same thing. The Ameristep is at a place where they've roosted and flown down. Going to put out couple of hens and do some light calling. Hope it brings them in.

So I made it up this weekend for a final shot at getting a turkey. Unfortunately they are predicting rain for tomorrow and sunday morning in my area - Germantown. I have an Ameristep blind set up at the edge of a field. I also have other natural blinds without covers scattered in the pines and woods around us. I've read that turkeys like to come out into the fields when it rains. Any thoughts on best place to set up?
