  1. Actually she hasn't take her permit test yet or drivers ed. She plans on doing so next summer. Has too much on her plate this summer and during the school year to take it. I think shes a bit intimidated to jump right in just yet.
  2. Thanks Karp! He turns 12 in July and he's already asking me to sign him and his friend up for the safety course. Can't wait to take him out with me in October!
  3. 105 days to go

  4. Good luck to you! Praying for a speedy recovery.
  5. Thanks and congrats to you as well. It is middle school - 7th through 8th grade which is why they actually called it a "Moving up" Ceremony. But the 7th and 8th graders are in the same building with the 9-12th graders so we refer to it as going to the HS in our district. We have a total of just under 500 students from 7-12th grade on average in our HS. It's a very small community. Just for comparison, my niece is graduating Plainview Old Bethpage HS this Sunday in another district with a graduating class of over 500 students which is why they are holding it at LIU Post Tilles Center.
  6. with elementary school!!! My son graduated from 6th grade yesterday and is "moving on up" to 7th grade at our local HS in September. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. Scares the "bee-jeebies" out of me . . .
  7. There are good points made on both sides on this issue. Some girls DO do it sooner than others and some girls do wait for later on in life. Both girls and boys have hormones. Some can keep them in check and others can't which is why we hear about so many teen pregnancies. My wife and I teach our daughter to respect herself and seriously think about whether she wants to give it up to a particular guy while emphasizing the consequences of doing it at a young age including pregnancy, diseases and the like and hope that our values have sunk in enough that she waits a bit longer. The T-shirt and gun toting/displaying will deter some guys from going the extra step but not all. We can only do so much to guide our kids boys and girls alike to make the right choices in life.
  8. Ha! My daughter ( a soon to be junior ) is going to the senior prom tomorrow. She was asked by a senior who has been her friend for 10 years. Last week I brought him into my home office where I have my hunting displays and with my shotgun displayed proudly on a gun rack made from my first doe. Tomorrow we are going to his parents house for pre-prom party. I was thinking of walking in my camo and with my shot gun slung on my back. What do you think Ants? May be a little over dressed?
  9. Thanks! Enjoy the day tomorrow guys! Going to get stuff done today as I plan on doing nothing tomorrow ....
  10. More stuff to ponder: 1. Why does quicksand work slowly? 2. Why are boxing rings square? 3. How come Superman could stop bullets with his chest, but always ducked when someone threw a gun at him? 4. Why does sour cream have an expiration date? 5. Whose cruel idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it? (No offense intended) 6. Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii? And here are the top 19 reasons why men are so proud of themselves: 1. We know stuff about tanks. 2. A 5-day trip requires only one suitcase. 3. We can open all our own jars. 4. We can make decisions without a support group. 5. We can leave a motel bed unmade. 6. We can kill our own food. 7. If someone forgets to invite us to something they can still be our friend. 7. Three pairs of shoes is more than adequate. 8. We don't have to clean the house if the meter reader is coming. 9. We can sit quietly and watch TV with a friend for hours without thinking "He must be mad at me." 10. We can drop by and see a friend without having to bring a little gift. 11. If another guy shows up at a party in the same outfit, we just might become lifelong friends. 12. Our pals will never trap us with: "So, notice anything different?" 13. We are not expected to know the names of more than 5 colors. 14. We are totally unable to see wrinkles in our clothes. 15. The same hairstyle lasts for years - maybe decades. 16. We don't have to shave below the neck. 17. One wallet, one pair of shoes, one color, all seasons. 18. We can do our nails with a pocketknife. 19. Christmas shopping can be accomplished for 25 people on the day before Christmas and be done in 45 minutes. Wooly I hope these don't confuse you any more. LOL Edit: a few more... If you spin an oriental man, does he become disoriented? Why do they sterilize the needles for lethal injections? How do you throw away a garbage can? (I've been trying to do this to a broken one I've had for weeks now but they just wont take it) If you are an insomniac, dyslexic and agnostic, do you stay up all night wondering if there is a dog?
  11. A little TMI don't you think?
  12. 1. What have you been smoking? 2. Do you have any left to share?
  13. The sun?? Is that what the big glowing yellow sphere is in the sky???
  14. The title of your post threw me off a bit. . . My first thought you had to "put down" one of your dogs. . . Thank God it was about planting and not what I thought!
  15. You're welcome. I was wondering what the ranges and shooting levels were as well.
  16. Didn't say in the article but here is the link embedded in the article for the application and some phone number for info. http://parks.westchestergov.com/images/stories/pdfs/2013_Bow_Hunting_Application.pdf
  17. Westchester is allowing bow hunting for deer in October in certain parks provided that applicants pass a proficiency test by July. http://mamaroneck.dailyvoice.com/news/westchester-deer-bow-hunting-tests-begin-june-21
  18. I looked into these. Reviews were ok. Only films in 480p. Dicks had them for $69.99 in camo last December.
  19. Sheetz! If I hear gunshots in my neighborhood, I duck and grab my nearest weapon.
  20. The way I see it - I don't have to water for a few days.
  21. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day!
  22. Great video. +1 on filming hunts. Great way to record memories to last a lifetime.
