Leaving for Geneseo around 9 am . My youngest son will meet me there . I plan to remove a hub blind that I have on a 6 foot platform and put up a new one . The blind has been there for 2 years and is in bad shape . I might remove the new one at the end of gun season this year to preserve it . I am taking the ATV and will show Nick the property and check out the stands that I have up and may put up another ladder stand .. Also want to see what the logger has done on a nearby property if possible . My SIL was looking into having her woods logged but changed her mind . Said it isn't worth 3 grand to have them mess it up . The woods is the driest the woods has been in years . I had not hunted it in a very long time because the field was always wet and so was the woods . It was so soft and wet that it would pull boots right off of your feet . If I had shot a deer in the woods , I would have to float it out . I am hoping that the farmer that farms her property does some sort of draining and clears out the overgrowth between the crop field and the woods . Wishful thinking !

I do the same thing . I hunt mostly from 15 foot stands but you don;t have to fall very far to get injured .

I go for the lungs . They can't run too far if they can't breathe . I have taken shoulder shots had had meat ruined meat . I never cared for neck shots . Whatever works for you .

I do the same thing and use a "Chain Quick Link" to fasten my safety harness strap to the tree strap .

Mike -- If you want censorship , go to the AT site and a few others where if you look at someone cross eyed or disagree with a Mod or Admin you are out the door . Bowguy has 510 posts and you have 26 and you want Bowguy given a time out or banned . I don't agree with a lot of topics and many posts on here but we aren't going to ban everyone we disagree with . If a topic gets out of hand , it gets locked .

I will stick with the belt around the tree . I carry an extra one in my backpack . The screw in step would no doubt when first installed but I would move it the next season . You can never be sure how the wood around the screw-ins react over time . Had a friend get a few stitches after one of his steps pulled out while climbing to a stand .

The biker replies "I'm a U.S. Marine, a Republican, and I’m voting for Trump". The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page: U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH! And THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days.

The NFL won't do anything . They only recommend that players stand while the National Anthem is played . It isn't mandatory . Most players conform to this but if you watch when the cameras scan , many players are chewing gum , looking around , scratching their nads , etc.. I always that of that as disrespectful . Anyway , I hope several patriotic defensive players show Colin Knapsack no mercy !
