Crap ! Daylight Saving Time ends this coming Sunday . That means I have to get an earlier start in the morning for any hunting for the rest of the season . I hate that !

Pheasants have gotten rather scarce . Last bow season I had one startle me when if flew close past my blind . I heard on last Friday but never saw it . They make a distinct noise .

Sat in a stand in Pittsford on West Bloomfield road from 3:30 to 6:30 . Legal sundown was 6:11 . Wanted to see if anything would come out when it started to get dark . Didn't see a thing and it was a spot where I had seen quite a few bucks a couple of weeks ago . The wind was blowing right in my face and it was cold . There's always another day .

Heading for Pittsford in a couple of minutes for an afternoon sit . Sunny and a blistering 50 degrees out .

Last year a local farmer in Penfield asked me if I was interested in taking a doe with a permit . I jumped at the chance . It was in September and I finally got a doe to cooperate the last week of September . I had been seeing bucks and on a couple of occasions , the doe were at the crest of a hill and it wasn't safe to shoot . If you do something stupid , it falls back on the farmer and doesn't make him a happy camper . That doe tasted great . I should have checked with him this year but didn't .

I have had nuisance permits given to me by farmers and have taken does during the summer months . I shoot the doe for meat not for the sake of shooting them only to let them rot . The land gets posted and the only hunters / shooters are the ones that have permission so that the farmer knows who is on his property . Many farmers didn't feel it was necessary to post until some yahoos would park vehicles where they didn't belong and have to get towed out of a field or climb over fences and do damage . Then the posting began !

The turning point was Robey getting called for pass interference . It appeared he was going for the ball and didn't touch the receiver but I don't think the play was reviewable . Losing to a 1 abd 5 team sucks !

I am surprised that none of the whiners havn't complained about talking sports on a Hunting site . Pass on 4th and one ... incomplete . Must have taken that play from Seattle . Losing to a 1 and 5 team .

If they traded EJ , we would probably have to give the team traded to a couple of draft picks also .

I tried a pair of Hothands Insole Foot Warmers Friday and they worked fairly well . It seemed like they worked best when there was weight / pressure on them . They stick to the bottom of the socks and claim 9 hours of heat . It says they work best in oxygen-restricted environments as in shoes or boots . I must have gotten them on sale ... don't remember .

Pulled the cards on cameras yesterday . Bucks are traveling in the dark .

My youngest son went to Traditions and wasn't too impressed with them . He bought his new bow at Heritage in Phelps and said the guy / guys there were real helpful and recommended it to a couple of friends . I stopped at the Williamson shop a couple years ago and thought they were worthless . My son was ready to drop about $1300 on a Bowtech Admiral with accessories and the folks there couldn't be bothered . After an hour of waiting and getting the run around I left .
