  1. Sitting 16 feet up in a stand. WINDY! SOMETHING ran across the field over 100 yards away. Either a doe or a spike. . It's a bit nippy. Should have brought some Dramamine. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. If it doesn't work , re-read the Regulations Booklet . ...... just kidding !
  3. Click on Start New Topic or Reply depending on what you are doing . Look for Attach Files at bottom left . If it doesn't show , click on More Reply Options in the bottom right . Under Attached Files click on Choose Files . That should give you an option to your pictures , downloads , etc .. Click on the picture and then the Open Box . Then click the Attach This File box. 4. It has been talked about here . It has been on the local news TV and Radio . It has been written about in the New York Outdoor NEWS . So , if someone hasn't heard about it , they must live under a rock .

  6. Waiting to hear the first violation and the outcome ...... Should be some good BS answers from violators to the DEC ( if they are caught ) .
  7. How to go Moog ! And with a recurve ! All that powerlifting paid off ..........
  8. Jaeger ----- Check the most recent edition of New York Outdoor News . There is an article on page 3 telling of errors in the Hunting Regulations publication . Even the DEC can't always get it right ! It doesn't hurt to ask questions !
  9. I cook the chili until it starts to look liquidy ..............
  10. Drove to my spot near the Pittsford - Mendon town line . I took my pole saw with me to the stand and snipped a few branches along the driveway . I was in the stand by 6:15 . Got everything ready then sat back and relaxed . It was a bit nippy but was hoping the cooling off would have the deer moving . At 7:10 I saw two bucks come out of a hedge row , cross the field and stop 50 yards from the opposite thick area . In a couple minutes they went into the thickets . One looke to be an 8 and the other was a 6 point . That was it . At 11 am , I decided to leave but cut some of the crap that was blocking shooting lanes . I may wait until tomorrow afternoon to go out again if my oldest son decides to hunt . Oh yeah , it was breezy and every once in a while a strong gust would come up . I really wanted to get a doe with my new " Moog String " !
  11. 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes 1 green pepper cut up in small pcs 3 pounds of fried venison burger 1 package of McCorrimick chili mix 1 package of McCorrmick Hot chili mix 3 cans of chili beans Dump the two cans of tomatoes and the 3 cans of beans in a 5 quart crock pot . Cut up the pepper in very small pieces and toss it in the pot as well as a few of the seeds . Have crock pot on high . Put the burger in a large fry pan with a cover and fry until it looks done . Turn it over a few times to make sure all the burger is done . Put one package of chili mix in the crock pot when the ingredients are warm and mix . Drain the meat and mix the other package of chili mix in the burger . Stir it up then put the burger in the crock pot and mix everything . Periodically sample it to make sure it's okay . I have been doing this for years and when we have a pot luck dinner , I am usually asked to bring some chili .

  15. Replacing the ratchet straps is important . A cheap investment to make you safer .
  16. Gonna leave the house about 5 am and head for Mendon . Tweaked the bow that Moog restrung for me . Hoping to get a doe this am . Wishful thinking ! Happy Hunting everyone !
  17. Welcome to Hunting NY .......
  18. I have one of the Arrow Squaring Tools and it works fine . I cut my own so I know what I have and have cut arrows for a couple others . http://www.cabelas.com/product/G-Arrow-Squaring-Device/746126.uts?productVariantId=1617007&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=36-99917159-2&WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=40019873&rid=20
  19. I have the itch to get out there but it looks like we are going to be getting quite a few rainy days this week . It sucks to sit in the rain but sometimes it pays off .
  20. No , he didn't offer to advise me on that but mentioned that you had helped him out a lot . I was quite impressed with the knowledge that Moog has acquired in a few short years of bow hunting . It is nice to be able to practice shooting 20 yards in a basement ! Thanks for your advice also !
  21. My wife has been supportive of my deer hunting addiction . Maybe that's why we have been married for 53 years .
  22. Took my Ben Pearson TX-4 to Moog's home tonight . He replaced my string and cable with the one's I had and setup my bow for me . I took a few shots in his basement and will have to do some minor tweaking with the sight when I get a chance outdoors in the next couple days . Real nice guy and I was impressed with what he was able to do . Thanks a million Moog !
