  1. oops ! Forgot that one . As far as I know , pellet guns are not consistent shooters .
  2. If you have something like a Black & Decker clamp bench , you could do this . Break the action open after mounting the scope . Look through the barrel and Lock onto an object about 20 feet away . Then adjust the scope so the crosshairs are on that same object . Fine Adjust the scope out of the vice . Or , do what wdswtr said ............
  3. While you are waiting for the components , read the reloading manual ! Don't rush into reloading without a better understanding of what you are getting into and what to do . Something you can do with the brass that you will be reloading for the two guys is run a couple pieces of brass through the regular sizing die and have each one see if the unloaded brass will chamber in their rifles . You might get lucky . Make sure the reloads you do work and are okay before you reload for someone else .
  4. The write-up Lawdwaz posted mentions that Full Length sizing may not be necessary until after a few firings . At that point you would also want to check the brass for wear and tear and check the case length for stretching .
  5. If you bought brass that was fired in someone else's rifle , you would want to use the full length die as the brass would conform to the chamber of the fired rifle .
  6. Congrats on your deer . Looks like you had good shot placement .
  7. I screwed up a pin on one of my dies . I called Lee and they express shipped another pin to me free of charge . If you use the Full Length Die , you need to lube the cases . Not so with the neck sizing dies . I bought the crimping dies but they aren't really necessary .
  8. I thought Larry was going to have the neighbor over for his New Year's Eve Party !
  9. Didn't your set of dies come with instructions that show pics of the full length , sizer and seating dies ? The Lee dies do .
  10. I want to get one of those K-Bar chain saw knives like Topper Harley used in one of the "Hot Shots" movies !
  11. One of the recent Deer & Deer Hunting mags had an article on "10 Hunting Rifle Myths" One of the myths was Damaged Bullet Points Hinder Accuracy . According to the article , it doesn't .
  12. Congrats ..... nice job !
  13. #11a on the form (partial ) Are you the actual transferee / buyer of the firearm (s) listed on the form ? You are NOT the actual buyer if you are acquiring the firearm (s) on behalf of another person . I would say it was an illegal purchase ........................
  14. What the store was trying to do was not sell it all to one person when others want the ammo also .
  15. I was at the Dicks Store in Webster today . Talked to my friend at the hunting lodge . He said that they were having a difficult time getting 223 ammo in and as soon as it arrives , it gets bought up . He told me that they had to limit how many boxes a person could buy so that a couple purchases wouldn't be a sell out and deprive others from buying any . He said one guy that wanted to buy a lot asked to see the manager and the manager told the guy you can buy the limit of 6 boxes or leave and buy it elsewhere . Some people are greedy and hoarding ammo .
  16. Boo711 ---- I think it would depend on what papers you signed , if there were papers ..... If you signed anything that stated you were making the purchase for yourself but actually bought it for someone else to use , I would think it would be considered a "straw purchase" .
  17. I meant to get back to this some time ago . I bought "The Rock" thermos at Target just before gun season and was skeptical about it . $25 was a great investment for this product . I have left it in the Subi all day after making the coffee at 4:30 am and have it still be hot at 5 pm . Best Thermos I have owned so far !
  18. I like the H335 . I use it for the 223 and 7-30 waters . I weigh the 1st 5 charges and if they are consistent , then I weigh every 5 charge . It measures out nice .
  19. I prefer the Hodgdon powder as it is ball type and works well out of a powder measure . My son bought some R-19 and it doesn't measure well . Maybe it's just me ..........
  20. Wow ! Some video . Yeah , these actors , etc make big bucks killing people on the big screen and then want something done about gun shootings . What DipWads !
  21. Maybe they measure different in Brazil where the Rossi's are manufactured . I tried Powerbelts a few years ago . Never had one fall out but heard a lot of negatives about not getting pass throughs on deer so I went to the TC sabots with Hornaday SST 240 grain bullet .
