I was out this am . Sunrise was at 7:35 . I heard 3 quick shots at 6:50 . The 1/2 hour before sunrise would have been 7:05 and the shots were 15 minutes before that . The shots came from toward the village and had to be a shotgun or someone was able to reload and shoot super fast .

Only the kid on the bike and his dad are tresspassers ..........

I wear my BO vest and hat during ML season . I will have it on today .

I would also love to see it . I hope you don't use a lot of big words or some of these guys on here won't understand it . j/k

That reminds me , I still have a $50 gift certificate for Beikirchs . Hans bought the place from Beikirch and Hans bought a house out here in Ontario . Anyway , they have decent prices and I purchase all my powder there . It's not that far off the X-way either . As I recall , Skillet works near there . Gander Mt is pricey and Dick's beats them for ammo prices but Dicks doesn't have reloading components . Gander will honor most of the Dicks coupons but if you have a $49.99 item , they won't give you the $10 off . It has to be $50 or more .

What a weird season . No snow . A couple teases with snow flurries that didn't last and didn't stick . What the hey ! It's mid December !

When BO was introduced , I started wearing the BO vest or jacket . But ....... I still don't think it should be mandatory .

Not going out today . I stopped yesterday afternoon to have my blood checked because of taking Coumadin . I went next door and got the Flu shot . I had a headache all last night and part of the morning . I wonder if it is the side effects of the Flu shot !

Irondequoit had a serious deer problem in the village . They used to hire off duty police to Bait & Shoot the deer . Later they went to having bowhunters get a certification and cull the deer during certain hours of the day allowing shots in less than 500 feet from occupied homes . It saved the Town / Village a lot of money .

Here is the 1st step in the process

Wasted another morning in Geneseo . Sat in the cold from 6:45 until 10:00 . Got out of the blind and walked the woods and thick field . Never saw anything except my sister in law's neighbor's dog and cat in the pasture lot . I called the guy up to let him know the dog was there . It's a mix of Boxer and Rotweiler . It's a real friendly pooch . I was hoping I might see a deer crossing the lot either heading for the gulley or leaving it . The deer wouldn't be around with the dog there . The owner was smart enough to have a blaze orange collar on it . Anyway my SIL lets her horses out at 10 am which allows me to shoot in that lower pasture lot until then . The dog and cat were together and it was funny to watch the cat tagging along behind the pooch . As soon as the neighbor called for the dog , it hauled butt with the cat right behind it .

I have failed so far this year . It has to be my 1st failure in many years of not getting a deer . I have been hunting in areas where I have gotten pics of deer on the trail cam but not seeing them in daylight hours . Still have a few more days left though .

Well , I will be heading out for Geneseo tomorrow for a morning hunt . If it looks promising , I may stay for the day . Otherwise it will just be morning and I would go back Thursday . It's all over one week from today !
