I bought my Lifetime License several years ago for $50 . I can't remember if that was offered to 60 or 65 year olds . Anyway , it was a great buy !

Maybe the Pony Express's horse died ...........

Went out and shot 15 arrows . 10 at 10 yards and 5 at 20 yards . Felt good . It was only 84 degrees out .

When it does , you might as well hang up the bow . I have my backyard target set up and want to shoot but not in 90 degree temperatures .

Rochester . Not sure where yet . Possibly Highland Hospital . I usually have procedures there due to A-Fib , etc . I could have had surgery done earlier but we are going to Ireland in September and I don't want to mess that up as we wanted to do that trip a couple years ago . Got too many things coming up in the Fall and want the procedure done before the snow falls . I will just have to limp around for a couple more months . I had a partial replacement in my left knee done several years ago . Physical Therapy was a key in recovery . I healed quickly and that knee is fine . As for going bow hunting too early after surgery , I would probably pass as I could screw things up walking on un-even ground . There is always gun season . I didn't get to be 80 by being too foolish .

Archery Season is going to be a short one for me . Tentatively I am scheduled for knee replacement October 6 . That will give me a couple days of Bow and then nothing for 6 weeks . Possibly nothing for the balance of the year . Had x-rays taken today and an ultra sound on my leg tomorrow to check for blood clots . It's rough getting old but it sure beats the alternative .

So be it ! -
I have a couple of tri-pod fold up chairs . They are too low to use to shoot out of a blind . They have a small back and are fairly comfortable . I find that the web chairs with 4 legs are uncomfortable to sit on for very long .

Not to get too far off topic but why shoot Opossums ? They eat a lot of Ticks !

I bought a chair like this at WalMart for under $50 to use in my Pond Blind . It was $100 on EBAY for the same brand and model . It swivels but doesn't adjust to raise or lower .

I wouldn't try to clean the lead off live rounds unless it was real light corrosion . Take the stuff with heavy corrosion, package it , then take it to Growalot's property and bury it . Problem solved .

Above ground pool... What am I getting myself into?
fasteddie replied to mowin's topic in General Chit Chat
My wife and I installed our pool . It was a 27' round . We had to hand dig down a bit to level the area . Then I put down 19 three inch patio blocks . My neighbor came over with his transit level and we set all 19 blocks . Wanted a deep end . Started digging and found out the property map was wrong and there were leech lines there so we dug a trench between them . Had a load of sand brought in and we spread that out . Then we started the wall and a female neighbor helped . I put clothes pins on the wall , fastened light ropes to tent stakes to hold up the wall until we got it bolted together . Next was the liner . That was a pain in the butt . Put some water in the liner to keep it from shifting so I could put up the wall rails . I was nervous about cutting the liner to install the skimmer but that worked out fine . Filled the pool , hooked everything up and it worked fine . We had a diatomaceous earth filter . In almost 30 years of having the pool , we went through 3 or 4 deck designs . It was a lot of work each year . There was a lot of Cottonwood trees around and that would plug up the skimmer . Went through 3 motors . We always knew where our kids were in the summer . Later grand kids got to use it . The pool was called Aluma-Wood . When I took it down , I took it to Alpco in Macedon and got some scrap money for the aluminum . There is a lot of work to maintain a pool but more personal enjoyment if you install it yourself .
