First of all , I agree about the penalty for not reporting . Now , lets say I have the bow and ML permits so just for a number I have a total of 7 deer permits . Now I don't report any . Sooooo , what would I be able to get the following year ? A $35 penalty and still get the same permits ? And , would the fine have to be paid in order to get a license ? I realize we are suggesting and speculating but it is an interesting concept . What about the Bear and Turkey permits ? Would they be reported also ?

This is over 5 years old but still funny .......... Deer Hunter

I have found it easier to report my deer kills on line versus calling by phone . I use to get frustrated at times with the calls and at times made 3 attempts to get a report to go through . The old mail in system was the easiest but would no longer suffice . Anyway , there is no good reason not to report your kills !

Never saw anything on that monster ! Awesome looking NY buck ! -
I don't care for the Jets but ..... if the Jets suck , what's that say about the Patriots and the Colts ? They are both out of the playoffs because of the Jersey Jets . ???
-
There certainly were quite a few surprises so far this season in the playoffs .
-
Yeah , at least one of the New Jersey teams did quite well !

Get rid of the 3 blade Rages as stated above , they are illegal . I was shooting Black Hawk Vapor arrows (made by Gold Tip) but switched to a heavier arrow . I now shoot the Arrow Dynamics Big Game Hunters and went from a "thwack" to a "THUMP" ! http://www.hornhunters.com/nitro_stinger.htm

Is the NRA giving us a con-job ???
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It costs money to Lobby in DC and the NRA uses the collected money to maintain our gun rights . Who else is going to do that ? The NRA is absolutely necessary ! When Democrats acted to give the District of Columbia long-denied voting rights in Congress, the powerful gun lobby saw a target too good not to take a shot at. The National Rifle Association's lobbyists made it clear to lawmakers that they believed the bill should include a measure to overturn the capital's gun control laws. Left mostly unsaid, but well understood by all 535 members of the House and Senate, was that failure to do so would unleash a barrage of political pain on resisters. The result showed the strong sway the NRA has even over a Congress dominated by liberal Democrats who mostly disagree with the organization's positions. The Senate voted overwhelmingly to add the gun-rights proposal. House Democratic leaders, fearing a tough vote on the issue, swiftly scrapped plans to consider the D.C. voting legislation. The bill hasn't resurfaced because Democrats cannot figure out how to keep it from splitting their ranks. Moderates and conservatives don't want to buck the NRA. Liberals are reluctant to be blackmailed into loosening gun laws. -
Fawns are born late May / early June . You don't want to be shooting does too early .

Dick's had the Ameristep Dog House Blinds on sale ....buy one , get one free for $70 . $35 apiece is a pretty good price . They are nice for gun hunting but not roomy enough for Bow Hunting ..

So much for stirring the pot .......... Anyone else plannong on getting some new gear for next season ? It's getting close .
-
I'll hold off on this . It's only 412 fps . By the time they are legal in Reg Bow Season , they should have something faster and a better range than only 100 yards . Maybe the price will come down from $1600 by then .

Pickles gizzards ? Yuck ! Ya don't need to acquire a taste for egg sandwiches . They go down easy . -
What gear are you lacking for the 2011 deer season ? I am considering getting a winch for my ATV . I never felt the need for one until last season when I had to get a deer out of a gulley . I think I could have pulled it out if I had a winch (and took the ATV with me ) . Has anyone thought about buying something that they need or could use to help with their hunting ?

Hunting jokes. Lets hear them boys. (and girls)
fasteddie replied to Robinson446's topic in General Chit Chat
Cletus and Ramidogg are dragging a deer through a field with a lot of thick brush and the deers antlers are catching on everything making the task quite difficult . NYAntler happens along and suggests that if they drag the buck by the horns that it would make the drag much easier and continues on . About 30 minutes later NYAntler happens on the pair still dragging the deer . NY says ," now doesn't that make it easier to to drag that big buck" ? Ramidogg responds with , " yeah , but we're getting a lot farther from the truck " ! -
It looks like if you have money , you can get away with a lot ! Andrae D'Acquisto, a self-admitted whitetail addict, is best known for killing trophy deer on his commercial DVD's as well as on the television program "Whitetail Addictions" produced by Lone Wolf Productions. Ashley D'Acquisto, 24, of St. Francis, Wisconsin also pled guilty to hunting deer without a valid Illinois habitat stamp and was fined a total of $205.00. All remaining charges were dismissed in accordance with the plea agreement. In September 2010, two Tennessee hunters associated with Andrae D'Acquisto pled guilty to making salt or mineral available for deer on the Menard County property in 2009. Danny L. Gibson, 47, of Anderson, TN and Dewayne H. Gibson, 41, of Caryville, TN were each fined $205.00 for the baiting violations. The remaining charges were dismissed. In 2005, Andrae D'Acquisto was cited for fraudulently obtaining Illinois resident hunting licenses, resident deer permits and providing false information to obtain an Illinois driver's license in Cass County. D'Acquisto ultimately pled guilty to an amended charge of obstructing a peace officer and was fined a total of $2,000 in Cass County. http://outdoornews.com:80/illinois/news/article_0d4c6af2-1773-11e0-b1dc-001cc4c03286.html

What really irritates you when your hunting ?
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Deer Hunting
I bought an ATV almost 2 years ago . I have used to to haul the chain saw , cutters , etc prior to hunting season . I have yet to use it to go to a stand . I have come across deer during the summer while riding and had them watch . Stopped to take pics and a couple started walking toward me . When I inched foreward they took off . My sister in laws neighbor uses a garden tractor to get to his stand . He rides it about 600+ yards down through his horse pasture lots to his stand which is a converted horse trailer with a heater , etc . The man has Fibromyalgia which is a muscular ailment ( pain , joint stiffness , etc ) and this is his means to get to his hunting spot . He usually gets a deer each gun season . When he gets one , he drives the lawn tractor back to the barn and gets the big tractor with the bucket . -
Does your uncle have a rifle that he could loan you . If so borrow it and sight it in at a range as his sighting probably won't work for you . Or .......... if you aren't too attached to the 22-250 , you might be able to trade or sell it and get a larger cal rifle . Whatever you do , Good Luck !
