DOING A CONTROVERSAL ESSAY FOR ENGLISH CLASS
fasteddie replied to Robinson446's topic in General Chit Chat
Robinson ----- You had better run your essay through Spell Check before turning it in .... ! -
Yes , Tom Selleck would be a good choise . He spoke up for Gun Rights on a TV show several years ago and the hostess wasn't any too happy with him . I think it was Rosann Barr's or Rosie O'Donnel's show .

Neat video . I wonder what that dog would have done if no one continued to call him back . -
Why Gun Laws Kill Too!

Be careful what you post on any site . You never know who is looking over your shoulder ! -
I havn't seen anything where it says they aren't legal . I don't use them due to the high possibility of a ricochet .

I ran into a fruit farmer that lives 1/2 mile from me as the crow flys . He has shooters for his property . He said he just got his Crop Damage Permits and they are good until the end of September . Apparently the fruit farmer gets them much sooner than the crop farmers .

Or ......... do a 20 man march . -
I bought a Winchester 1200 in 1965 and it's still a great shotgun ! I paid something like $115 for the win new and paid $135 for a rifled barrel just before The Creekside Gun Store closed .

That's been around for a while and more people need to see it . She did a great job and kept herself composed very well . -

Dave --- My mistake . I thought the idea was to report all tags ( filled and unfilled ) . So , if I process my own deer and don't report anything (and don't get caught) , I don't get penalized . I would be more for reporting "all" tags filled and unfilled . I would also wonder how much would be involved to maintain all this info on the DEC's computer system . The fines could possibly cover any additional expenses to the DEC ( if there were any ) .

The weather report shows 30 degrees in Ontario , NY right now but my 3 thermometers show 46 degrees . The forecast shows temps in the 20's Wed - Friday and 8 degrees Saturday . It's crazy !!!
-
First of all , I agree about the penalty for not reporting . Now , lets say I have the bow and ML permits so just for a number I have a total of 7 deer permits . Now I don't report any . Sooooo , what would I be able to get the following year ? A $35 penalty and still get the same permits ? And , would the fine have to be paid in order to get a license ? I realize we are suggesting and speculating but it is an interesting concept . What about the Bear and Turkey permits ? Would they be reported also ?

This is over 5 years old but still funny .......... Deer Hunter

I have found it easier to report my deer kills on line versus calling by phone . I use to get frustrated at times with the calls and at times made 3 attempts to get a report to go through . The old mail in system was the easiest but would no longer suffice . Anyway , there is no good reason not to report your kills !

Never saw anything on that monster ! Awesome looking NY buck ! -
I don't care for the Jets but ..... if the Jets suck , what's that say about the Patriots and the Colts ? They are both out of the playoffs because of the Jersey Jets . ???
-
There certainly were quite a few surprises so far this season in the playoffs .
-
Yeah , at least one of the New Jersey teams did quite well !

Could become a very popular delicacy ...... roast unborn fawn. Yummy!! Shoot a doe and get some bonus fawns. ;D Yeah , you could put one on your fried egg sandwich ! ')'>http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/picker.gif[/img]

Get rid of the 3 blade Rages as stated above , they are illegal . I was shooting Black Hawk Vapor arrows (made by Gold Tip) but switched to a heavier arrow . I now shoot the Arrow Dynamics Big Game Hunters and went from a "thwack" to a "THUMP" ! http://www.hornhunters.com/nitro_stinger.htm

Is the NRA giving us a con-job ???
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It costs money to Lobby in DC and the NRA uses the collected money to maintain our gun rights . Who else is going to do that ? The NRA is absolutely necessary ! When Democrats acted to give the District of Columbia long-denied voting rights in Congress, the powerful gun lobby saw a target too good not to take a shot at. The National Rifle Association's lobbyists made it clear to lawmakers that they believed the bill should include a measure to overturn the capital's gun control laws. Left mostly unsaid, but well understood by all 535 members of the House and Senate, was that failure to do so would unleash a barrage of political pain on resisters. The result showed the strong sway the NRA has even over a Congress dominated by liberal Democrats who mostly disagree with the organization's positions. The Senate voted overwhelmingly to add the gun-rights proposal. House Democratic leaders, fearing a tough vote on the issue, swiftly scrapped plans to consider the D.C. voting legislation. The bill hasn't resurfaced because Democrats cannot figure out how to keep it from splitting their ranks. Moderates and conservatives don't want to buck the NRA. Liberals are reluctant to be blackmailed into loosening gun laws.
