I was out for 5+ hours this am and never saw one deer . Got some exercise and worked up a sweat . I don't get that here at the computer . Heading for south Bristol tomorrow am . Didn't see anything there Monday ???????????????????????????

I was in my stand in Geneseo by 5:45 today . Needless to say , it was a bit chilly . I could see almost 500 yards to the East and over 300 yards to the West . I sat there until 10 am and never saw a thing . Did a walk-about through the overgrown field and woods . Both were a bit swampy as the land doesn't drain and the water just laus there . When the folks ride their horses on the mowed trails , it makes the going quite rough . I am going to give Geneseo a try tomorrow am and then hunt with my son in South Bristol Saturday . Can't shoot any deer from this computer ! ???

Well , I will give you my honest answer . I passed on a 6 & 4 point last year that would have been chip shots and ate my buck tags . passed on doe fawns and didn't fill some tags . This year I have passed on 4 doe fawns and wouldn't shoot them if I had it to do over . I passed on a small 5 point and a spike and have not shot a deer yet this season . I may adjust my personal standards but still can't bring myself about to shoot a doe fawn . We'll see .............

When I left , some farmers had pulled their land out of the club . Many of the members from the Rochester area had joined Scot-Grove just to hunt pheasants and it got pricey buying them . I heard a rumor about guys turning some birds loose and had guns and dogs with them ! : ... ??? Then a couple members told some folks to get off a property and the guys that were told to get off were the owner's sons . A lot of problems facing a small club membership . $61 a year wasn't bad at all .

What kills me is to be typing a long piece and then checking something out only to go back to my post and I have lost it . Got a nasty cold and starting to lose my enthusiasm ! It sucks to get hyped up for months and not get a shot . With yesterday being the Marine corps Birthday , I thought it would be my day but it just wasn't meant to be ................
