  1. Congrats on the doe and also for passing up on the little guy . I didn't see one darned deer today !
  2. Yeah , that weird broadhead definately slipped through the cracks .
  3. I recall being in the Geneseo WalMart the day before gun season one year . A guy was at the counter buying 20 ga & 12 ga slugs . A buddy was loaning him a shotgun for opening day . The guy didn't know what ga it was and hadn't shot it . I asked why he hadn't sighted it in . He said his buddy had done that already . It would have been funny if it turned out to be a 16 gauge ! : ... ;D
  4. The wind forecast doesn't look much better Sunday . It lets up a bit Monday . I may be wasting my time tomorrow but what better way to waste time than sitting in a treestand !
  5. I changed my plans about where to hunt due to the weather . Although it is forecasted to stop raining in South Bristol around 10 pm , the ground will still be wet . I would have to walk about 500 yards down some hilly terrain and I know how slippery it was when we put the treestands up soooooo , I think I will be hunting in the Geneseo area where it is much flatter . If Geneseo doesn't look so great , I may leave around noon , come home and go to Saturday evening mass and hunt South Bristol Sunday .... I have everything pretty much ready except for hooking up the trailer and loading the ATV .
  6. Well Vipertech , here's hoping you get lucky opening day . Hope you get a deer too ! :
  7. There are plenty of misspelled words on forums / sites but we know what the person is saying ( for the most part anyway ) . I don't think we need an English Teacher to come on here and correct the Grammar ! : ..... ???
  8. I shouldn't be grunting this weekend . I have been pretty regular .......
  9. I have 3 spots that are anywhere between 100 and 120 miles round trip so it's a daily round trip drive . Therefore , If I hunt Saturday , I will skip Sunday and alternate days . Two places that are close by are screwed up this year . One is overgrown with super high weeds / thorns and the other is overgrown with hunters . Soooooo , I gotta drive .
  10. Ya know , getting old sure beats the alternative !!!
  11. I have a TC pistol with 4 barrels . No serial number on the barrels . I have 4 permits for the Contender all with the same number from the frame .
  12. I have a Moultrie IR-40 and have had it for a couple years . Great battery life .I also have some WildView cameras and this winter I plan to take them to the rifle range and put them to use . Their battery life sucks and they just die out . I still have one that hasn't been taken out of the package and uses AA batteries . I have a couple of Stealth Cams that work pretty good .
  13. I have the Tru-Glo sight on two bows . Love the single pin sights !
  14. Great job on the fixer-up ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]

  16. I took my bow out to the back yard this am as I had changed the string loop . It was a bit nippy and I was wearing just a t-shirt so I kinda hurried up . My 1st arrow was dead on at 20 yards with the 3D . My 2nd shot did a "Scott Norwood" and went wide right . I nocked a 3rd arrow and it jumped on the arm of my Trophy Ridge Drop Zone rest and against the riser . What the hey !!! I tried a couple other arrows and they would jump also so I didn't shoot them . I put an arrow on the string and pulled the cord for the rest . It raised the arrow just fine . I guess I must have had a brain fart ! I knocked another arrow and drew back slow and no problemo . Apparently , in my haste , I was jerking the string causing the arrow to jump . Like Mama said , "stupid is as stupid does" . I went out this afternoon to shoot and didn't have any problems and was dressed for the weather . Sometimes I tend to overthink a problem and have it end up being a simple solution !
  17. God took a rib and made a Loud Speaker out of it ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/2cents.gif[/img]
  18. I had set a Moultrie IR-40 up in our back yard when we went to Cancun last spring . When I got home there was over 800 pics on the SD card . Just a bunch of pics of the back patio . I noticed a very small limb with a couple of leaves . It was just enough to trip the camera many many times .........
  19. I tried different editing and I don't see anything that looks like any animal in the Trail cam Photo .
  20. Nice buck ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/dancing_b06.gif[/img]
