  1. I bought one of these presses and had only used it once . I had a new string put on my bow a few months ago and the peep had rotated slightly . I had compensated for that but it finally got to be a nuisance so I broke out the Portable Bow Press . Backed the limb bolts out 4 turns each , applied the press , rotated the string 1/2 turn , removed press and tightened limb bolts 4 turns each . Simple to use and it corrected my problem .
  2. I am always tired opening day because I can't sleep the night before opening day . http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/help.gif[/img]
  3. Everyone is getting their gear ready for the Southern Zone Bow Opener . Whatever you do , DON'T forget your Hunting License and permits . A friend of mine just gun hunted and we drove to Geneseo . It's a 50 mile drive . We got our gear out and I asked him where his Back Tag was and he gave me the "oh sha-zit" look . He wasn't going to break the law so he sacked out in my truck . I didn't have any luck that day but I took my time and let him suffer . I have two totes packed . One with clothes and one with my backpack & my HSS . I gotta get the bowcase and quiver ready to go .
  4. I enjoy seeing the pics of what has been around and passed through the area . I had a camera up on a friend's area but others that could hunt the area messed up the area . I had gotten a few pics of does and one of a buck that I never showed them . Two of the guys parked the ATV right in front of the camera . It was a waste to hang the camera on that property .
  5. A well fet cat and ........... it's quartering away !
  6. The music was irritating as all hell ! I held off on turning the volume off as I thought there might be some audio narration but ........ there wasn't any .
  7. All kidding aside , it's only about 1 1/2 miles (as the crow flies) from the Livingston Country Club .
  8. Hey , at 69 years , I can still get up and down from treestands and drag a deer ! I am not in great physical shape but I bet I might be in better shape than some of the young farts on here ! I almost said whippersnapers but most of the members wouldn't know what that was ,,,,,,,,, :-X
  9. I thought you were from Seneca county . What-cha doing in these parts ? Work... one LONG commute! (~1hr. each way...) Gives me time to look for roadkilled coyotes anyway... On your way to work Wednesday , stop and measure the Coyote for NYslowHand ..........http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]
  10. Doc mentioned being a cheapskate and not being up to snuff with today's technology . He failed to mention that his communucation system is still 2 vegetable cans with a string to make calls ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/icon_smile_whistling.gif[/img]
  11. I think I have the answer to this ....................
  12. I retired from Xerox in 1998 . A few years later I started working part time for a guy that has a Real Estate Sign business . I would work a couple days a week installing Real Estate signs . I have hardly worked for the past few months as the market has slowed way down since they quit giving the home buyers rebates . I didn't take the job to make a living . It got me out of the house and out in the public . The Real Estate Market is hurting !
  13. I thought you were from Seneca county . What-cha doing in these parts ?
  14. About 8 years ago I was putting up Posted signs on my sister in law's property in Geneseo . I had to be on her neighbor's property in order to do this . His northern horse pasture lot had brush that was 15 feet or more deep . My foot felt something . I looked and it was a shotgun . It was a rusty Remington 20 ga pump . I couldn't cycle it but it had birdshot shells in it . I gave it to my sil's neighbor and he had no idea who left it there . How could anyone leave a shotgun in the woods ?
  15. Using that Fresh Earth Scent doesn't help me 'cause i'm older than dirt !
  16. I agree with WNYBuckHunter . You won't want a high power scope on slug gun especially if you are hunting a wooded area .
  17. I have gone into the Profile 6 times and added my birthdate and it still doesn't show . Apparently it doesn't relate to 1941 .........http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/waaah.gif[/img]
  18. 150 without the rack ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/2cents.gif[/img]
  19. As for me , I am still using a VIC 64 .............. :
  20. I turned 69 last month . That would make me 483 in dog years .
  21. No neck roast on that deer ---- too tough !
  22. A couple shirts I have are : " I didn't Climb to the Top Of the Food Chain To be a Vegetarian" ( archer in a treestand on the back ) " Help Preserve Wildlife - Use Freezer Bags" I wear what I want because i'm not paranoid or ashamed of the fact that I hunt . I may wear a camo shirt but I don't walk around in full camo .
  23. I had seen both of them and yes , the interviewer in the 1st video was laughing at the man's high pitched voice . I think the guy with the high voice said he had shot himself in the groin with a crossbow . Watch it again and listen carefully .
