  1. I have been using an Arizona EZ-Fletch and had to modify it in order to gey the Quik-Spin vanes to clear better . I got mine for $30 but I think they go for around $50 now ....
  2. Most of the corn is still up in the areas that I hunt . It seems like they want to wait until everything dries out before cutting .
  3. She's another one of the Carpet baggers that came to our state and got elected .
  4. As for a treestand bow hanger , I bought one at Dick's at the end of season last year . It has 3 screw in adaptors that you can screw into trees . The hanger mounts on these so when you from from stand to stand , you leace the adaptors and just move the bracket . http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=401040&pdesc=HME_Products_Better_Bow_Hanger&aID=503H5&merchID=4006
  5. Keep an eye out for his big brother !
  6. I think Gander MT , etc have the Bohning Jig for about $30 . Cabelas is $35 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0046464417928a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=bohning+jig&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=5&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&Go.x=26&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1
  7. I was going to ask the question about using a bow holder on an ATV as I have yet to transport my bow that way . I have seen the Gator Grips , etc .. I guess I would be concerned about what the vibration would do to the accessories ( sight , arrow rest , arrows , etc ) . I think I will stick to walking and use the ATV for retrieving .
  8. For anyone who shoots 3-D targets and has trouble pulling your arrows out , try this ..... take a soft cloth and spray some Armor All on it . Then wipe down the shaft from the middle to the target tip . It will make pulling the arrows out a breeze !
  9. If it fits into the guidelines for whats legal (read the bill, there are width and poundage guidelines), then good luck with it living up to their marketing hype. : Oh, and the huge price tag. Hype ? Are you implying the the folks that market the crossbows are dishonest ? C'mon , give me a break ! Huge price tag ? It's less than a social Security check ........ They probably won't be allowed into bow season until at least 2012 and there should be some big improvements in the technology by then .
  10. A guy in Groveland said he left his name and number with local farmers . He asked them to call him when they had a stillborn calf and he would pick it up . He said he would place it in a spot in an open field and stake it down with some fencing so the yotes wouldn't drag them off . He said it was a pretty productive way to get them to come in . Coyotes will eat stuff that smells so bad it would make you gag !
  11. Hopefully the bands will let the boards slide okay when it's windy . A lot of guys would have spiked the 2X6's to the tree and when the wind blew , they would have pulled out . A chain-on would have been cheaper but I bet your's will be more comfortable !
  12. I have a Crossbow picked out for when they make them legal in regular bow season . It will be a PSE TAC15 crossbow that has a speed of 402 fps and shoots 1" groups at 100 yards with plenty of kinetic energy ! No more wasting time in the back yard working on 20 and 30 yard shots ! http://www.pse-archery.com/prod.php?k=55444&u=1142 Old TAC 15 Video - Tactical Assault Crossbow
  13. I was at Dick's in Webster today and saw somrthing kinda neat . It was a thing that you screw into a tree and snapped your Doe Bleat can into . You flip it up and let if fall and it makes the bleat . It was on clearance for $1.99 but I couldn't bring myself to buy another GIMMICK . Quaker Boy Twist a Bleat can Holder
  14. My license is okay ' It's still plaid !
  15. I couldn't help but laugh each time the guy put the air nozzle in his pocket . Didn't seem like a smart thing to do .
  16. It didn't look like the deer he was using the Air Skinner on had been field dressed . He's lucky he didn't blow the deer up !
  17. I bought a pair of Tubbs Snow shoes at Sportsman's Guide but havn't tried them out yet ....
  18. I bought one but havn't had a chance to use it yet . Bought in on-line $26 including shipping . Bought one for my son also . http://cgi.ebay.com/Deer-and-Game-Skinner-AIR-SKINNER-NIP-/280563390323
  19. Heck , I have pee'd on the ground in front of the camera and had deer come over to check it out ...........
  20. Nice video .........http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/thumbup.gif[/img]......http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]...http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/thumbup.gif[/img]
  21. No fooling ! Just look at the DMV Registration Stickers that don't stick ! Cheap glue .....
  22. Wow ! That is something else .........never saw anything like it before .
  23. As far as the weather goes around here , you can have all four seasons in one day !
  24. I went down to a friend's property yesterday that is close by to see how things looked . What a surprise . They had made a Dirt Bike track several years ago and used it to run ATV's sometimes . The guy wasn't letting anyone run ATV's this year . The weeds and thorns have taken over and are 5' + high . I tried going through the stuff to check out 2 stands and got all tore up . I cannot fathom the deer traveling through this crap and am guessing that they will skirt around the area to travel through . I was very surprised to see how bad it had gotten .
