  1. I had a few stickers on the rear window of the cap on my S-10 . One of them said" Guns don't kill people , Drivers with cellphones do" I came out of a store and was putting stuff in the back end of the truck and saw where someone had written "32 dead at Virginia Tech" with a black marker and then keyed the side of my truck .
  2. I retired from Xerox in 1998 after working there for 35 years . For the past few years I have been working parttime for a frriend installing and removing Real estate signs . It gets me out and about and I scout some of my hunting areas when I do this ..........Life is Good ! .. ...
  3. Great looking cabin Culvercreek .......
  4. Click on the site and then click on the region and you will get the names of the ECO for that area http://www.dec.ny.gov/about/621.html
  5. When I was a kid I would shoot squirrels and my mother would fry them up for me . Tasty ! When I was home on leave from the Marine Corps , my brother in law and I shot some rats at the dump with his 22 pistol . The next day I went squirrel hunting and shot a couple . I didn't snip their tails as I had done in the past . When I pulled the hide off , I pulled the furry tail off the tailbone and thought , my gosh , it's a rat . I havn't eaten one since .
  6. How much work do you do on any of your bows ? I have put in peeps , loops , sights , drop away rests , string nocks , string silencers , string vibration dampners , etc .. I try to do as much as I can and it gives me a better understanding of what makes a bow tick . I have NEVER put a string or cable on a bow . I have always taken my bow to a shop to have that work done . I bought the Bowmaster Bow Press so I can put twists in the string (if necessary) and add string leeches , etc . .
  7. Glad to see you made it Bruce ! Start posting the GPS coordinates of those great hunting spots of yours ! : .. ..
  8. I was heading uphill to my son's property in Italy Valley . My wife was on the back behind me . I have a basket that I had a cooler and a bunch of stuff in .... Not being use to riding an ATV , I hadn't used my head . We were wearing helmets . As we were going up the steep hill we had to ride over several water bars . My wife slid back and the front end went up in the air . The ATV was resting on the rear wheels and basket . I hit the kill switch ,had my wife get off and then I got off . Pulled the front end down , restarted the machine and went the rest of the way as it got flatter . If the basket hadn't been there , the machine would have been on top of us . I learned a lesson that day ------ don't overload the back end when traveling uphill . Have some weight on the front !
  9. I called the Blue Ridge 3D target a Decoy in the video and never corrected myself .
  10. For those of you that have trouble judging distance or want to put out a scent wick ............ http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj146/parker-bows/?action=view&current=DistanceMarker-ScentWickHolder.flv
  11. The Rage 2 works great . The Rage 3 is illegal . I wouldn't tak e a chance on getting caught wirh a Rage 3 Broadhead in my quiver . I had not heard the bit about sometimes they don't fold back and sometimes they do so they aren't consistant . I have only been told by DEC officials that they are illegal and that's good enough for me .
  12. In the late summer the Ontario Rod & Gun Club has some 3-D shoots . Nothing competitive . 28-30 various 3D targets set up in a wooded area . I think they charge $8 per person or $6 per member .
  13. I shoot the Remington 120 gr Core Lokt bullets in my 25-05 . It's the only Remington product I use .
  14. Last fall Gander Mt was selling the Rage 3's at the Henrietta store ( so was Dicks) . They had a sign that said they were illegal to hunt with .
  15. Not hunting related but I thought someone might be interested .......... http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj146/parker-bows/?action=view&current=HangingTomatoPlant_0001.flv
  16. You can buy the Bobber Light for $2.49 at Gander Mt (possibly cheaper in a fishing tacklestore). You can purchase manufactured lighted nocks for $10 and up for each manufactured nock .
  17. I don't keep one but it's an excellent idea . We had this forum on another site and several of the members kept the journals up religiously . It's good to keep one and look back on what you did .
  18. I drove past the entrance on Pole Bridge Road a couple years ago and there was a large sign with their logo on it .........
  19. Here was my lighted nock and how it looked in the pitch dark ........... http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj146/parker-bows/?action=view&current=LightedNock.flv
  20. I still use my Winchester 1200 with either the Federal or Winchester super X cheap rifled foster slugs . I bought the gun new in 1965 for $108 and a few years ago I bought a riflied barrel for it for $135 . The farthest I have taken a deer with it is 95 yards . Since we can use BP during gun season , I prefer to use the inline .
  21. This video was posted on You Tube about 3 years ago . They are pretty easy to make and not expensive
  22. I have a few others . I don't want to use them all up at once ............ .. ..

  24. FOBs were designed by an aerodynamics engineer . With the FOB , no fletching is necessary ........... http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj146/parker-bows/?action=view&current=FOBRH.flv
