  1. I just use the stuffer attachment on my warring pro grinder I don't have a separate stuffer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I just always love the .38 snub. It was one of the first pistols I ever shot and still one of my favorites to this day. Good point with the option of single and double action.
  3. Wanted to get a .38 snub nose and was debating between one with a hammer or one without. This will not be for concealed carry. What are your thoughts and the pros and cons of both? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Saw this the other day.....I really hope elcted officials go back and look at how stupid this law is and repeal it.
  5. I make my own venison sausage using real intestine as the casing. It doesn't snap the same as when I buy it from the butcher. Is it because I am using real intestine or is because maybe I am not stuffing it enough? Any advice?
  6. Has anyone here ever changed a rock river elite operator hand guard? Is this something that's easy or does it involve a lot of work. One post I saw looked like it was a simple Alan key the other looked like I need torque wrenches and vices. I think it's the latter but wanted to know if I should just take it to a gun smith and let them deal with it. Mine has the half solid aluminum which over heats and want to replace it with a torus handgaurd.
  7. I would love to get a s&w .38 snub... Hopefully soon
  8. If you were butchering the deer yourself is this the cut of meat from the end of the blackstrap to the base of the skull? Then do you just tie them together? I would like to try this some time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Just made venison sloppy Joes tonight....thinking next year a whole deer might go through the grinder so I can make this more often along with the my sausage and venison tacos. 1 1/2 lbs ground venison 1 red bell pepper diced 1 small yellow onion chopped 3 cloves chopped garlic 1 15 oz tomato sauce 1/2 cup sweet baby rays BBQ sauce 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon dried mustard 1 tablespoon wersterschier (however you spell is sauce) 1 can kidney beans Heavy squeeze of siracha sauce Sauté onions and pepper in a tablespoons of olive oil until the onions are translucent. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Put into a bowl off to the side. Brown venison with some salt and pepper and then add back vegetables and add tomato sauce and all other ingredients and summer for 15 minutes. I add more siracha then most because I like mine spivey. Serve on a nice toasted bun.... I forgot to add the beans this time because I didn't feel like running to the store but still tasted great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Would like to here the ret of this recipe. Do you mind sharing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Wanted to start making my own rounds and really have no idea how to start. Does anyone have any recommendations on some good books to purchase? Would like to read about it first before I go out and buy a kit this way I know what I am getting myself into. Also any words of advise are much appreciated. Thanks all.
  12. I have seen a about 7 or 8 while hunting and confirmed killed three of them. I try to take them out whenever I can hoping to get a larger small game population. I have seen pretty much all but one during the morning hunts. The ones that I didn't shoot ran by me hauling A**.....not gonna lie I threw some lead in there direction with some prayer shots. I have seen a few fox too. In everyones opinion is it worth shooting those things too or is targeting these animals futile to bringing back the small game population?
  13. Tried something new this year with the bones I saved after butchering. Roasted them in the oven for about an hour and then made a stock by boiling them in water with some onions, carrots and celery. Haven't made anything with the stock yet but am curious how it will taste. Has anyone done this before and if so what have you made with it? How did it taste?
  14. I didn't realize moose were that far south. I know they were growing in numbers far north.
  15. It was my last weekend for regualr season so I filled my regular season tag and my DMP. Not the deer I would typicall shoot but I wanted meat for my freezer so punched my tags sat and spent Sunday and Monday butchering and making sausage and Jerky. Hopefully I can find a good buck during black powder. If not, I guess I'm done for this deer season.
  16. This dope is in the same boat.... A mighty cold boat if I may addSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  17. I missed opening day. i was out this weekend and only saw a few deer right as the sun was going down. The wind was horrible in 4Y so I assumed I wasn't going to see much even before I went out. Saw a lot of action during bow season but no shooter came into range. Hopefully I can fill a few tags before regular/muzzle season ends.
  18. Yea Venison has been on NYC menues for as long as I can remember. I asked the chef once and he said its all farm raised
  19. Interested in purchasing a plot of land for myslef and have only hunted up in Colombia county since day 1. The deer hunting up there is great in my opinion but it lacks options as there is no bear and small game is very scarse. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for vacant land that would offer the best selection of game and also has good hunting? Just looking for vacant land not interested for a house yet but would like to put something up in the future. I live in the city so somewhere that is easily drivable Friday after work and then come home Sunday distance wise. Thanks for all suggestions and help. Thanks!
  20. Windy and nothing moving here in 4y. Heard one shot around 7am and that's it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  21. Unfortunatly I cannot head up to the woods this weekend for opening day since my friend is getting married this weekend and I am in the wedding party. First opener I am missing since I started hunting 10 years ago. So bummed. Hope the nice bucks I have been seeing that have been out of bow range don't disapear on me.
  22. I shoot Reepers alos. Love them and have no reason to shoot anything else. Recovery has never been more than 50yrds and haven't lost a deer yet. They are pricey and After recovering a deer that head is spent unless people have any suggestions to salvage a head that has taken down a deer?
  23. These are he mornings I live for! Perfect temps in 4y jumped a bunch of deer walking in but have had some does pass through a forky pus a spike through and a beautiful 8 that just didn't want to come into range.... Today's gonna be a great day I can feel it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
