Willows are too weak and would get too big for my liking.

$1000...

Let's try $340...

Gold Tip Pro Hunters, awesome arrow.

My 7600 jammed with the Winchester super X loads. But it shoots Remington Core loks (150-180 grain) and Winchester Supreme Ballistic tips (150-168 grains) just fine. These are the only bullets I've shot through it.

Awesome work for your first mount! Keep up the good work.

So sweet you should make an offer

I set my camera up for 3 pics per trigger with a high delay interval and left it out from October until now. It's a 4 GB card and there was plenty of room on the card when I pulled it. I have another card formatted if I want to change it out, but I think I will just remove the pictures when the batteries go dead.

Watched it with the wife, I'll just say it wasn't a waste of time.

Here's a real buck since Biz is so foolish...He might go 130"

1951 Belgium Browning 16 gauge shotgun. One of the more rare versions of this shotgun. It has X series prefix for the serial number, X54xxx. Listing it for a friend. He's asking $1100 or BO.

I was very pleased with the battery life and performance.
-
These were the utilitech batteries from Lowes, put them in the camera in October and have had the camera out ever since. I'm going out to change the batteries now. The total pic count sent to me via text is 187.

Here is the typical low battery text you'll get. I just got this a few minutes ago.

The AT&T page has an option for Autopay for the 3 month activation. If you have one of these cams I recommend setting that up. It will save you the hassle in the long run reactivating it. It's only $25 every 3 months. You can also set up auto refill if you blast through your texts quickly. Just a thought for those of you with the cams.

I shoot my bow year around. Have an outdoor range for spring/summer/fall and indoor range to 40 yards in my barn for the winter. So I try to shoot 5 or more days per week. For guns I can shoot 300 yards at my house. I hardly ever shoot here in the summer and fall as the fields are ag fields and have crops in them, so I go to the range. But I'll shoot the 22-250, .22 mag, and now the .17 HMR a few times a month here during the winter. My hunting rifles get the usual 5-10 shots at the range 2-3 times per year.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but deer dead on the ground don't prove gun accuracy. Pics of your 3-5 shot groups at 100 yards, that's more definitive. There are slug guns out there that are accurate as hell, I've seen them and own one. But I would never say it could compete with a rifle when it comes to overall accuracy. Ok, since now we've turned the OP's simple question into a six of one half dozen of the other debate, Let's be honest, everyone has their own preference for short range and thick brush weaponry. Not everyone is capable of shooting as good or poorly as the next person. Not everyone knows their guns like they should. I don't think the OP is pursuing a new gun. I think he wanted to know if he should put a scope on it, use open sights, slug recommendations, and if his barrels would work. I hope he figures out his barrel situation and can get some range time in with his gun to decipher which slug is best. And hopefully he got some good advice in here amidst all of the disagreements.

Thanks for the safety reminder...I own 100 acres and am the only person who hunts it. I don't shoot squirrels in tree tops unless I have a shotgun. I have tree stands throughout my entire woods and will be sitting in them primarily, so I'll be shooting down. The 100 yard shot I took was downhill, squirrel on a stump with a tree behind it. As far as shot placement, shoulders and above are fair game. I realized after this weekend how little meat there is in the front shoulders. I'm willing to sacrifice that to make a clean kill. My buddy was carrying a .22LR shooting 40 grain CCI and he had nearly as much damage as the .17 HMR. Since the Hornady bullets are all that were in stock and they shoot amazing in my gun, that's what I'll be sticking with. Thanks!
