  1. Scoped for sure! But my old faithful has see through scope mounts so I can use both. Chiefbkt
  2. Maybe these? Don't own a pair but they look like what you're after. http://www.sealskinz.com/US/gloves/ultra-grip-gloves-olive Chiefbkt
  3. I have the hooyman and can say it's worth every penny. It's so compact, I leave it in my bag all year. Chiefbkt
  4. Got one of these cams from Phade, honestly for the price how can you not try it? I initially had some issues but they were all user and incorrect SIM card related. Once I got things straightened out (thanks Phade) it was put out for use. It's been out since Monday afternoon and is working fine. It's in a pretty low traffic area near a bedding corridor where I'm trying target one buck. I've only received a couple pics so far but I'm hoping things will warm up shortly. Here is the first pic I got. I have since adjusted the camera angle and height to utilize the flash appropriately. As with any new camera, there is always a small learning curve. Once I get this camera figured out completely it's going to be super useful. I would recommend trying it if you're at all interested in a cell cam. Phade was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful when I had setup issues. Chiefbkt
  5. I have one and have no issues. It's a solid cam that takes good pics and videos. Mine is 2014 model, assuming yours is 2015? If it is, do like Phade said and update to the newest firmware. If it's a 2014 you should be fine as is. Chiefbkt
  6. 4 year old and 110" Chiefbkt
  7. Saw this video on the Facebook and thought I'd share. In short, don't apologize or make excuses for a deer you shot. A trophy is determined by the person who shot it. https://www.facebook.com/thehuntingrounds/videos/1066432803391461/ Chiefbkt
  8. As long as you go slow downhill you should be fine. But I have a small wagon (from TSC) I use. Chiefbkt
  9. I have a soup thermos, it's the cats meow on long cold stand hunts. Goes well with some hot jerky. Chiefbkt
  10. What do you need or need to do before your first hunt? Hang a stand? Shoot your bow? Buy something? Etc, etc. I washed all my camo last week and realized I ran out of scent neutralizer. So I stopped by bass pro yesterday and they were literally cleaned out! I usually buy the gallon jug and refill my bottles, fortunately for me they had 1 jug of the brand I use left. Their archery supplies were nearly gone, as expected. Hopefully whatever it is you need to do, you get it done. Chiefbkt
  11. 2015 Obsession Evolution @ 29" and 70lb. Shooting Gold Tip pro Hunter arrows 9.3 gpi totaling 270 grains, 100 grain Rage 2 blade BH, 12 grain insert, 31 grain Lumenoks, 3x6 grain vanes, for a total of 431 grains. Trophy ridge react pro sight with .019 pins for 20 & 30 and .010 for the rest. TruFire release, clear shot archery peep, QAD HDX Ultra rest, WK custom bowstrings, limb saver stabilizer, tree limb quiver, and I shoot with both eyes open. That's my basic set up for hunting. Hope this helps! Chiefbkt
  12. Catskillkid, moog, what slugs do you guys shoot in your 220's? I'm probably gonna shoot the 3" Hornadys but figured I'd see what y'all are shooting. Chiefbkt
  13. Was thinking about this a little more, and you have to make it out of pretty hard steel. A good low carbon or even SS, which could get pricey. This would hopefully help withstand the abuse of a crowbar or battery powered sawzall. In any event, if it sells for $50-$75 I think people would buy them to keep their several hundred $$ camera safe. Chiefbkt
  14. Friday 10/2, 9am-3pm then 4:30pm onward. Chiefbkt
  15. It has the option then, I have 3 and hardly ever capture squirrels or small rodents. Chiefbkt
  16. If you sketch it on paper, I'll put in CAD for you. Sounds like a good idea, just not very portable. But if you have a good spot, who cares how portable it is. Chiefbkt
  17. Turkey season is just around the corner...haha Chiefbkt
  18. Grampy you can't replace it if you don't buy it! You must have a kid or gran child that could use a gun...[emoji3] I thought the 170 yard shot with my 210 was far, 279 is a long ways with a slug. Glad I have 2 of these bad boys...I'll sight it in like a rifle, when I decide on the scope. But seriously, someone buy this before I decide to keep it for a safe queen! Chiefbkt
  19. I wish I didn't buy a .308 last year...nice gun! Chiefbkt
  20. I wouldn't buy anything bigger than a 400, since you'll be going up hills I would try to get something that has IRS, and would definitely go used. There are a lot of nice 4-wheelers out there well under $5000, or even $3000 for this matter. If you need to store it outside, I would try to store it on a concrete pad of some kind and buy one of those cheap 6x8 or 6x10 outdoor tents with sides. At minimum I would keep it off the bare ground if possible. Best case scenario would be to have it inside a building (obviously.) Good luck!
  21. Adjust the sensitivity, if its an option.
  22. I shoot a 2015 Obsession Evolution @ 70# and 29" draw, GoldTip Pro Hunter arrows with a 431 grain hunting set up. Should be plenty of down range KE with this set up. I am not out there bowhunting intentionally looking to take a 50+ yard shot. I would much rather have that 40 and under shot. I have 4 stands on field edges giving me wide open shots so if a deer is hanging up at 50, 60, or 70 yards, knowing I can make that shot is nice to have in my bag. Even then, to take a shot that far you have to consider the conditions, ie. deer body language. LIke I mentioned earlier, I shoot in all conditions and really like shooting on the high wind days to see my arrow flight. I have seen very little change in my arrow flight at 50+ yards on these windy days. This is cross wind, face in the wind, and down wind shooting. I am not perfect, I've made poor shots on deer at close ranges as have many of us bowhunters. That is why I shoot as much as I do, to help alleviate the chance of error in my shot.
