I know you aren't a fan of those ugly single shots but on a Thompson Center page I am on, it is amazing the accuracy some of the guys are getting out of really short barrels. Several are running barrels in the 16-1/4" (to avoid the short barreled rifle issue). I have been watching several threads of barrels that were not very accurate in a longer form but were shortened to find their sweet spot. I have been reading a lot about the stiffness increase of a shorter barrel in comparison to a longer. Interesting stuff.

we vacuum seal everything. What we have found with our burgers and Italian sausage is we put in 1 pound to a pound and a quarter in an 11" x 11" vacuum bag (add length for the length of the seal) Seal it and then press flat in a square. ends up about a half inch thick. mix in whatever seasonings you want before mixing and sealing. we partial thaw, which happens fast and cut into 4 squares. on the grill. this actually helps especially if you don't want to add fat to the venison , they can get crumbly that way but this method helps them hold together becasue the outside sears before the inside is totally thawed.

I had been going in the deer woods with my father since I was 8. From 8-10 he showed me how to gut deer by watching. At 10 he handed me his knife never carried anything other than a pocket knife after that and I don't think he ever gutted another one. I guess that's what I was for. Lol

Congrats. It goes by so quickly. My only daughter is actually back home for her last 2 years of the 6 year Doctor of PT program. No Grad housing on the campus and she wanted to save her money(my money..lol) to get a jump on paying the loans back. It is nice having her home. only issue is now there are two women in the household and we all know how well that can work out.

I had family members on me heavily when I said I was voting for him. (he wasn't my Republican pick). I told them if the only thing that I saw get done was at least one strict Constitutional Justice appointment I would be happy. Well I got one and I't looking like Ruth's seat could be another. I guess I didn't set my bar very high but given the crop we had to choose from I think I have an excuse...lol. Yeah. I don't see him changing. Only possibility is if the kids get a leash on him.
