  1. Set up a target in the thick stuff, and take a few shots... what better way to find out !?

    Elite Bow?

12' elite pulse, used to shoot a Mathews. Everything is better on the pulse except axle to axle, but its not like I can't shoot in a ground blind or sitting down..... go see s&s taxidermy in Springville....they are the best
  5. Well, mines a little more redneck than that one, but that's exactly it !! Little life saver ! Actually, not a live saver at all....
  6. Any luck ? White hair prob means brisket shot.... from what I have seen, they bleed a lot but unless they try and lay down or find water within 100yrds or so its most likely not a fatal shot. Odd that u haven't found the arrow though. What kind of angle was the deer when he shot ?
  7. I always see posts about blood trails and pics of blood and or lost deer etc... I rarely hear about hair though. With most of us shooting high speed bows it is sometimes hard to " push " your arrow and know exactly where u hit, and knowing that is the start on deciding how to start tracking if other signs aren't obvious. I find the hair to be one of the best definers of shot placement. So, my father and I decided we would take samples off a deer we killed and make a book. Its about 20 pages back and front and is only 2"x2" in size held together by a large keychain type loop. All the hair samples ie shoulder, brisket, front leg, hind quarter, spine etc are all labeled and laminated. It is an extremely helpful tool in the field and we compare hair from the arrow or area almost every time we stick something. You might be surprised hos different the hairs are from different areas, thickness, tip color, bent, wavey etc. Just something cheap and quick but can save u some time, or a mistake in the woods. Just wanted to throw it out there for what its worth.
  8. Hair is as important as blood. Any hair found ? Arrow ?
  9. Mathews mission craze. Can be a beginner to end bow. Something like 17#-70# and 20"-30" draw with same bow/limbs. Very smooth and fast and under 450 loaded.
  10. Well, my current furnace will do either coal or wood..... but I already have a ton, or two of split wood so I'm gonna continue doing wood for now. Lopi liberty seems to be my best option. Still researching though so any more opinions are welcome
  11. Can't argue, seems anything really huge has the nickname tiny....
  12. How bout this, its been said already and if we can take a small vote, just to help Andreas out, and I'm being serious this time, bring this thread back in January. Am I not right that as soon as our season ends, is really when our season starts. A proper documentary must start at the end, to show how " sportsman" hunt. Correct ? Andreas, if your that interested in finding out more about this sport, take the course, get your license and get ur ass in the woods ! We all started someway or another and I think your only 2 options are to wait till season is over and find someone then, or join the club and get out there. What better documentary than someone starting from scratch and all the knowledge you can gain from a forum like this one. So, who agrees this is the absolute wrong time to start a documentary ?!? And who would rather see Andreas join us in the woods as a hunter, not a cameraman !?
  13. End this thread on that note... best statement I've heard in awhile. There is the truth, thank you Mr fudd
  14. It is legit.... come n see As for the hunting tag, I believe a movie reference on " the man called horse " is appropriate. Only hurts for a bit
  15. Who fed these moths cocaine....or crack... they are nuts ! Loopty swoops and some whipsy dips
  16. Hotter than a snakes ass out here
  17. If u make it to WNY I'll let u tape me, but I do hunt in the nude. I feel its natural camo. Sometimes I get crazy with the face paint, maybe you could help me with that while we film..... and u don't have to be nude... its ur choice. Just no wandering fingers please ! They stink !
  18. Give it time. At least 1hr. If its not raining I'd give it 2. Looks like good blood
  19. Appears to be heart/ lung and liver. Tough to be precise from pic. Quartering shot ? Arrow stuck in ground ? Any hair ? What did the deer do when u shot ? Could be a high shot and its filling up....
  20. Antler ice products. Why ? Cause they all do what they are supposed to and the fact they are local. Plus it all comes frozen so its fresh when u want it to be. From my friend experiences its the only urine product I've witness work, and work on mature bucks.
  21. Dang.... they are sideways.... sorry !
  22. Haven't seen one of the guys in a year or two... noisey little bugger !
  23. Looking to move soon and will be replacing my big old hot blast furnace with a large freestanding unit. So far I've found the lopi liberty and the blaze king king to be interesting. Lopi is a tube gasification and the king is a cat stove. Heard good and bad about both just wondering if anyone has experience with them. I'm mainly looking for a few things, able to heat a very large room / 1500sq ft house, and good burn times, like 10-12 hrs of heat. A lot of my already seasoned wood is in the 18-24" range. A glass door would be nice to look at too... I find myself opening my furnace often cause I want to see the flame. Anybody ?
