I purchased the 50 cal green crush ribs designed for 44 bullets (.429-.430 DIA)after reading how they are 50% easier to load than standard sabots. All I can say is that my ramrod almost went through my hand, holy smokes they were near impossible to load. I even mic'd the bullets and they were .430. For comparison I borrowed some different sabots and bullet combos from friends. I was able to easily load TC shockwaves with black TC sabots, powerbelts, and hornady xtp with green hornady sabots. Any ideas as to why this may be happening?? I am shooting a Thompson Impact .50 cal. BTW this is on a totally clean bore.

I own a Summit Viper and it is easy as can be to climb with, nice big shooting rail to sit on while climbing, very secure while climbing. Nice comfy seat and great platform to stand on while standing. I am a big guy, 260 lbs maybe more with all the gear on. I have used a lone wolf sit and climb and it is very nice, but a bit snug for big guys and the rail you sit on while climbing is not quite as secure. Both the summit and the Lone Wolf are right around 20 lbs. Go with the summit in my opinion.

Looks like 4J is the bow only. This is the description from DEC Albany County (WMU4J). That part of Albany County lying within a continuous line beginning at the intersection of the Conrail Railroad and the Albany-Schenectady county boundary in the town of Guilderland; thence southeasterly along the Conrail Railroad to Route 32; thence easterly along Route 32 to Feura Bush Road; thence northeasterly along Feura Bush Road to Glenmont Road (in Bethlehem Center); thence easterly along Glenmont Road to Route 144 at Glenmont; thence southerly along Route 144 to the south bank of the Vloman Kill Creek; thence southeasterly along the south bank of the Vloman Kill Creek to the west bank of the Hudson River; thence southerly along the west bank of the Hudson River to the Bethlehem- Coeymans town boundary; thence easterly along the Bethlehem-Coeymans town boundary to the Albany-Rensselaer County boundary (middle of the Hudson River); thence northerly along the Albany-Rensselaer county boundary to the Albany-Saratoga county boundary (middle of the Mohawk River); thence northwesterly along the Albany-Saratoga county boundary to the Albany-Schenectady county boundary; thence southwesterly along the Albany-Schenectady county boundary to the point of beginning.

Check the DEC sight regarding bow only zone in and around that area. I know the bow only area starts at the guilderland ind. park and works its way all the way to the hudson river via parts of voorheesville delmar albany etc. Depends if you fall into the area they describe.

My club is $65 a year with 250 acres to hunt on. Pistol, rifle , skeet and bow ranges as well as a stocked pond.

I thought if you made a report to the DEC they could go and investigate the property. For that matter I have been told the DEC does not need permission to go on your land. They can basically snoop around the land to determine if everything going on is legal. Correct me if I am wrong.

WNY Bowhunter. Just be sure your not 500 feet from a dwelling or in possession of a firearm while spotlighting, as per the several tickets that the DEC issued and published for this crime. Awesome Bucks BTW. Good Luck.

Go with a revolver. No external safetys, decockers, magazines etc. Just load and unload cylinder and squeeze trigger. Very simple. My votes go for Ruger GP100 in 357 4 or 6" and Ruger Redhawk in 44 5.5". The S&W choices mentioned above are also great 686(.357) or 629(.44).

I have a NY permit and just went to Centre County PA, paid 20 dollars(every 5yrs) and had my permit in 10 minutes. The PA permit has similar reciprocity to the Utah permit. Overall Utah permit is more expensive, 65.00 every five years, plus course which varies from 80 to 120. Utah does not require a NY permit but that means you cant carry in NY. Hope this Bill goes through.
