NY DEC: DEC Adopts Black Bear Management Plan
Meat Manager replied to burmjohn's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
How does PA manage...Bear is 2 weeks long there...first week is archery, second gun... Not concurrent with deer season (2 weeks prior to rifle opener). My father has gotten 3 black bears in the past 8 years in the poconos fair chase. Baiting is only necessary in dense suburban areas where bear and human interactions occur frequently, like NJ -

Bears open in 7j sounds good to me...I've seen sign here and there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Who posts a potential new WR and isn't joking?

I don't hate horns...I hate horn obsessed hunters. I also hate this notion of celebrity/elite hunters "fortune & fame" and "straws" of deer semen going for 3 Gs a pop. The whole thing makes me sick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I hope some farmer shoots it bald tonight with a red tag because everyone is so hung up on horns they don't care about population management... This whole thing stinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I made it up to the top of the ridge...no turkeys, lots of sign. I did see that the 4x4 trails have been getting heavy use so I obstructed all the entrances. As I was finishing the second entrance I heard someone on a dirt bike coming up from the third entrance. I stopped him...asked him if he saw the signs (ofcourse not), I told him the property is under new management and off limits...told him to get the hell out and to tell his friends. Back in the blind for the duration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now I'm about halfway up the ridge...in between my two stands of pines: Still nothin doin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This thread sucked when it was about a "celeb" hunter... Now it's in my all-time top 5 troll-jacked threads. Would you ladies pull up your undies and quit crying (no offense to the actual ladies). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Damn...I mean, Nice! I've been waiting for someone to turn up the heat with bird 2, but not the call making master already in the lead! I can't wait to hear the stats...I'll be looking for a late season WR to catch you now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
They jump in the boat this time of year. All defense...they will protect those nests. I always have to try to avoid catching the same ones over and over again set up off my break wall. Meanwhile my dad and gramps can't get enough of catching the same 20-22" smallie repeatedly...like kids, ha. Brown trout and panfish are activated as well over here on Otisco. What broad heads do you use for turkey?

Started the season with rage 2 blades but did not like the penetration (more like lack there of) in the 2 birds I shot and 1 harvested. I decided for the remainder of this season I'd go back to montec fixed blades....I had a handful laying around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If you like this just wait til whitetail season....if you're married you might want to prepare your wife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm really happy with how this first warm season planting has gone: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just keep it up...you're getting more consistent action then just about anyone here.I've had success getting them in close by setting up so the hen faces the corner of my blind between the left side widow and front widow and inside10 yards. There is an open area out my left side window and an open lane out my front window (I only hunt out of these windows)... But behind the hen is brush so to get a good look the boys have to come around to one of my clearings...now he's already inside 20 yds. Side (deke not visible, it's on the right): Front...deke is on the far left: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Right now at 2 points back of the lead in the chase for the coveted hny cup I might shoot her for the points. A jake and a bearded hen could win it all if anyone can put together 2 birds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

None here either, but that's because I decided to stay in bed...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
