stores also sell guns. Couldn't you use a gun to kill a deer during bow season (which is obviously illegal)? Wouldn't the store then be selling a product that is contributing to laws being broken? Maybe guns should only be allowed to be sold after bow season. Where do you then draw the line? Stores cannot be held responsible if a legal product that they sell is used illegally.

go buy some zanfel. Works great - washes off the oils and stops the itching almost instantly. You can get it at an drug store or walmart. -

Will never get released. We all know that he got into college because he applied as a foreign exchange student from Kenya. That was the source of the whole birther conspiracy. -
the northern part of sterling forest doesn't get as busy. There is a road called orange turnpike that runs past the northern edge of the park. You can park and hunt along there. I travel this road frequently and find only a handfull of trucks parked there during bow season. During rifle I don't think this area of the park gets as crowded either. MAy be worth taking a look.

I would echo the others' comments. Try talking to him and politely ask that he keep his dogs on his property. Mention that you have seen them chasing deer on your property and you have trail cam pictures of them on your property. If it continues then I would call the DEC or local police, but he then can't say that you didn't give him a chance.

Nice buck great pictures

Beautiful morning in 3m. Saw about 10 does so far this morning. Where are you guys at that are seeing chasing? Doesn't seem to have kicked in yet in the southern part of the state.

My cousin was there last week with his dogs. Kicked up 6 pheasants shot 2 cock birds. Also kicked up a quail. Make sure you park in a space.

New hunters need to be prepared for "after the shot"

if you are taking a doe make sure you have a rope. You can drag bucks by the antlers but does are really difficult and awkward without a rope. Also if you are by yourself, bring a short piece of rope to help in field dressing. I usually tie the outside rear leg to a sappling so that it holds the leg in the air - makes dressing a lot easier. If you are with a buddy they can just hold the leg up while you are gutting. -
What if I eat an apple for lunch and leave the apple core on the ground. Would that be baiting?
-
I believe that baiting is legal in NJ. Couldn't people buy stuff in NY to use to bait in NJ? I live in southern zone so obviously a lot closer to NJ than some of you guys further up.

my neighbor has a similar fence and the deer impale themselves on it all the time. The funny thing is that she is very anti-hunting. Last spring a doe caught herself right through the gut. The deer was still alive so she called the police. The cop was more clueless than her so she called me to help put it down. I didn't have a gun with me so I had to tell the cop what to do (pretty pathetic). I just had to get a jab in and told her that for someone so against hunting, she has killed more deer with her fence than me as a hunter.

my grandfather was a Lucky Strike chain smoker. During rifle season my spot was about 150 yards from him and I would know every time he light one up. The man killed more deer in his lifetime than I can ever hope to. Also, he wore a red woolrich suit, used no scent block, sprays, scents, or sounds. If he were alive today, he would be laughing at me taking scent free showers and spraying my boots with scent blocker.

lmao - also try spraying a buck bomb like binacca

I have donated a good amount of deer and I know for a fact that the processors get paid. I don't think it's a lot or as much as we would be charged, but they do get a few bucks per deer.
-
the buck bomb I had was like a spray paint nozzle but you twisted is so that it locked itself so that the entire can would empty. I guess you could do a few sprays but the directions say to let the entire can rip.

I have had some decent success with Wildlife Research Institute golden estrus. I tried a buck bomb last year and did not have a good experience. A bunch of does approached from downwind. As they got closer to the buck bomb they started running in cirlces and darting in all directions - behavior that I have never seen before. I don't think that they winded me because I have seen the reaction that deer have when they wind me and it was nothing like this. Also, careful spraying the buck bomb. There is no way to avoid getting it on your hands and you then stink like doe reproductive fluids

nice...were they able to look at the teeth to determine the age?

Just had a huge doe and her fawn at 17 yards. Waiting on the big daddy.

A lot of people are killed by cars each year so lets also outlaw cars. Knives are dangerous so lets outlaw them as well! I'm sure Chuckie Shumer and Bloomberg will be all over this one. YOU CANNOT OUTLAW stupid, and the rights of the majority should not be taken away because a few are irresponsible. This was a terrible tradgedy and I feel terrible for this guy's family.

if you found gut, he is dead somewhere by now. Best of luck!
