1. You could try calling a local trophy shop. They engrave things too, but I don't know if they can do a gun barrel on a machine. They would have to do it by hand.
2. Perhaps we need a different site for these types of videos on the net. They could call it "YouTool"
3. I just cooked some two weekends ago. It was great. It is important to remove all of the fat off the meat when it is butchered though. That will spoil the flavor and give it that greasy taste. I put the meat in a pot with some vegetable oil and browned. Added onions and cooked till crisp. On the side I mixed a can of mushroom soup concentrate with a little dry sherry, garlic salt and 4 ounces of chopped mushrooms with the water in it too. Dumped it all in with the meat and cooked on a simmer for 1 hour. Then cooked a pot of white rice. Put the rice on a plate and put the bear meat mixture on top of the rice. GREAT! Even better the next day as a left over. It was even more tender. Very easy to make in the kitchen with just two pots. Tastes like pork with a venison gaminess to it. I like it! Of course the bear I hunt live in the woods and don't eat at the garbage dump. That also has a lot to do with how it tastes.
4. Those two idiots are not famous......they're notorious. There's a big difference. Look it up.
5. Tell me this, why do cops and military need weapons civilians don't? Because they have to have superior firepower? Then what that says is they have to have civilians out gunned! That means they are circumventing the 2nd Amendment because that amendment is supposed to give the PEOPLE the right to keep the government in check by bearing arms if need be. What happened at Ruby Ridge and Waco was government abuse of power and the NRA was right to say so. Any limit on private ownership of guns that serves to subjugate the people to the government is wrong. The government has to be challenged any time it starts moving towards a Police State! If some one uses a gun to harm another, he should be prosecuted for that. But should a person be prosecuted or killed for mere possession of an object the government feels you should not be able to own? I think not! Anyone in law enforcement or the military who thinks otherwise is not fit to serve, as they are violating their oath to protect and defend the US Constitution.
6. Keeps the voting from being influenced by current popularity. I feel that's a good idea.
7. My experience with Timberland realtors was good. I bought my place through them 13 years ago.
8. Here's a few realtors in Delhi, NY Delaware County http://www.timberlandproperties.net/ http://www.franklumiarealestate.com/ I used Timberland years ago to buy my place. I just walked in and said I was looking for land to hunt. They had lots of choices.
9. I am dealing with it by keeping an eye on him and alerting everyone else to the potential for future disaster. How does one get over it when the threat has just begun? Stick your head back in the sand if you like, but I prefer to remain vigilant. Like I said, this guy can't be trusted. Worse than a Liberal? How so? Do you even know what a Liberal is? They're the ones who voted for Cuomo. Did you?
10. Andrew Cuomo has been on the taxpayer payroll since 1984. He has accrued a track record over the years that gives anyone plenty of reason to throw him under the bus. He's Governor of NY now because NYers are either oblivious or hopelessly liberal.
11. It sickens me to see Spitzer's face on TV, knowing he's making big bucks too. How is it that show has any ratings? Are people really that stupid? Sheriff Of Wall Street? What a joke. Wall Street got away with everything and sank the economy in the process. Some Sheriff! Then he became Gov and spent our tax dollars like a drunken sailor on leave. Former Criminal AG in my opinion. I don't forget how close the Cuomo's were to Spitzer either. Probably still are. : I don't trust Cuomo as far as I can throw a baby grand, but all we can do now is keep an eye on him and be ready to pounce the minute he starts to show his stripes.
12. Believe it or not, managing that kind of money for posterity is a full time job in itself!
13. If you give a starving beggar the keys to your home, you best count the silverware and be constantly vigilant. My question is, why would you do that in the first place? Time will tell, but you can't turn the clock back afterwards. It's sad that this is the best NY state can offer, as far as a leader goes.
14. Other than the muzzle break, which is useful, I think all of the other options are quite an improvement. I don't find them to be so much military as they are practical.
15. Sorry to hear about the crash. Glad to hear everyone is OK though. The jeep held up real well from the pictures you posted. Glad to hear she was wearing the seatbelt too.
16. I cringe at the idea that voters would elevate Andrew Cuomo to high office, and it's also based on memories of his tenure as housing secretary. Not the Fannie Freddie subprime end of it, although I concede that in a strictly economic sense those were the most damaging things he did. No, what I find permanently hard to forgive is the way Cuomo threw himself into the role of chief national cheerleader for the municipal anti gun litigation of the 1990s and early 2000s. Read About It: The Cato Institute
17. Some of us are just tired of getting it when we bend over. Some of us have long memories and can smell a skunk in the dark too. In 2000, Cuomo led HUD efforts under Bill Clinton to negotiate an agreement with the United States' largest handgun manufacturer, Smith & Wesson that required Smith & Wesson to change the design, distribution and marketing of guns to make them safer and to help keep them out of the hands of children and criminals.[5] Budgets enacted during his term contained initiatives to increase the supply of affordable housing and homeownership, and to create jobs and economic development. These include: new rental assistance subsidies; reforms to integrate public housing; higher limits on mortgages insured by the Federal Housing Administration; a crackdown on housing discrimination; expanded programs to help homeless people get housing and jobs; and creation of new Empowerment Zones. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/Andrew_Cuomo.gif[/img] http://bits.wikimedia.org/skins-1.5/common/images/magnify-clip.png[/img] Cuomo as HUD Secretary During Cuomo's tenure as HUD Secretary, he called for an increase in home ownership.[6] He also pushed government-sponsored lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy more home loans issued to poor homeowners, in an attempt to end discrimination against minorities.[4] Some believe that this helped lead to the current subprime mortgage crisis.[6][4][7] Edward J. Pinto, former chief credit officer at Fannie Mae, said "they should have known the risks were large. Cuomo was pushing mortgage bankers to make loans and basically saying you have to offer a loan to everybody." So, how did you like that banking and sub prime mortgage fiasco of 2008? Video Evidence: Andrew Cuomo at the Heart of the Mortgage Melt Down By Lonely Conservative Ed Morrissey posted this clip of Andrew Cuomo in October of 2008. It was taken when Cuomo was HUD Secretary under President Clinton. Also notable is that Kirsten Gillibrand worked for Cuomo at the time, so she was in on it too. This is what Cuomo said at the time:
CUOMO: To take a greater risk on these mortgages, yes. To give families mortgages that they would not have given otherwise, yes. Q: [unintellible] … that they would not have given the loans at all? CUOMO: They would not have qualified but for this affirmative action on the part of the bank, yes. Q: Are minorities represented in that low and moderate income group? CUOMO: It is by income, and is it also by minorities? Yes. CUOMO: With the 2.1 billion, lending that amount in mortgages — which will be a higher risk, and I’m sure there will be a higher default rate on those mortgages than on the rest of the portfolio …
You heard and read that right. Andrew Cuomo said the banks would be giving people loans they would not have otherwise been qualified for. He said those people would default on those loans. He and the rest of them knew what would happen and they went ahead and did it anyway. Be sure to read Morrissey’s commentary explaining how the CRA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Bill Clinton, Andrew Cuomo and Congress brought about the mess we’re in today with the housing market. If you ask me, their actions were criminal. http://lonelyconservative.com/2010/10/video-evidence-andrew-cuomo-at-the-heart-of-the-mortgage-melt-down/
18. Marion Cuomo was one of the worst leftist liberal Governors NY ever had. The Cuomo family is also known nationally as one of the most liberal political families in the country. There is an old saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace!
19. Here's my suggested title, "Gun Control by the State = Total Control by the State!"
20. Jennifer, if that situation ever comes up again, call the game warden and request his help. Many times the landowner will allow the warden to go onto the land and retrieve the deer for you. I don't know what the wardens say to these landowners to make it happen, but I've seen them do it a couple of times in the past.
21. An Albino is not a sacred cow to me. If I see it and have a tag for it, it's going to be sporting a blood stain!
22. A good debate requires a respect of opposite opinion, and a respectful reply, even if one adamantly rejects the opposite opinion. If one cannot debate a topic from a calm point of view, they are just arguing, not debating. It's tempting for someone to drag a thread down into an internet version of a bar brawl when they cannot get the better of the other person. What we need to remember is, the information in a debate thread isn't there to change the other guy's mind, that never happens in a debate. The information is there to allow the interested audience to see both sides of the issue so they can make up their own conclusions. Political debates are a good example. If done right, you get the votes of the audience. If done wrong, you get no votes. It's the other people that decide which side of the issue to accept. If the threads were posted with that in mind, I think we'd see far less venom involved.
23. That's a good book, and the author is John Lott. You can google a lot of good info on gun control and hunting that will help you write a good essay. Many teachers are fair and will grade you on the content of the essay, not their own beliefs. I hope yours is one of them.
