  1. I hope you stock around, hate to see that one post in your profile. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  2. As far as I know, all property directly below power lines are off-limits to hunting. Often times, one is allowed to travel across or through this property, but shorting from, or across it is illegal. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  3. Sears targets? They must be real old, probably vintage. Awesome! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  4. Ran into a hunter in Westchester hunting for deer.... with a shotgun. Told him he was breaking the law and we parted ways. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  5. I don't see how each ring can possibly be 1/4" if you are shooting a .270. Either way, sticks improve accuracy. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  6. That's what knives are for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'd really like to see a marksmanship portion added to the safety course. Some of the folks out there can't hit the side of their own barn if their life depended on it, and that's a safety concern. Too little emphasis is given on the safety aspect of hitting where you aim. If mandated, I wouldn't expect hunters to need to do refresher courses every 5 years, but just like the safety certificate, every hunter must certify at the 50-100 yard range and qualify. Same goes for bows, maybe out to 30. This would put a financial burden on NYS, but will also drum up business for local ranges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. LI isn't the city. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So far, I don't know a single hunter from the city that would even consider shooting outside of legal light. Maybe there's some correlation there. Yet, over and over I hear folks talking about 60% deer are taken illegally, and folks say all the stories they hear from their hunting buddies all shoot regardless of the law. I have to wonder if its a culture thing specific to the area.
  10. Looking to try different ammo before I commit to a large order. Seeing what this bad boy likes to eat. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  11. Just placed an order for a .243 Winchester. If anyone has some ammo to unload, I'd consider purchasing from here first. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  12. Take it easy pal. Don't have a cow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. He advocates illegal activities on an Internet forum, under the disguise of never posting his identity and picture in fear of losing his job. I would say the answer to that us a big, fat, YES. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I've still got plenty of permits left, don't fret. Unlike you, I don't find the need to brag about how many I take on them. The forum would probably ban me from taking up all their web space if I did. I've probably shot more deer this year than you have in a lifetime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If I was just re-sharpening, I'll find the current angle and work with that. If I am re-shaping the grind, I'll use figures then muscle memory afterwards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I hand sharpen, without any guides. Just practice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Makes sense about the knocking around. Thanks Steve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Paper wheel still requires compound to help strop the edge. You can do the same with a leather belt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I've sent you a PM Pygmy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Steve, don't have a dishwasher, but why would it be bad for the knives? Assuming there is no wood on the handle that is. When I started sharpening, I too would make my knives worse off than I started. All that has changed now and I can get most knives as sharp as new, sometimes even sharper. I enjoy sharpening knives manually. I sharpened a few knives for a member here, and by the sounds of it, he was happy with the work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I use stones of different grits until I can slice the hairs off my forearm. No machines for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I see you're back at the illegal stuff, again. Next you're going to say that it wasn't you that shot off a motorized vehicle, but your dads friends brother, right? Throwing your company title into a forum discussion again? Do we need to get phade in here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. How will you sharpen them after they get dull? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Some guns do require the zero be set shooting freehand, probably not the ones the OP is talking about, but I've had to do it out to 50yds. Not the best zero method, and a lot of ammo used to do it, but not impossible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. This is upstate, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
