  1. Tons of blacks in protected areas. Closest opportunity to taking one was in Westchester with the bow. Sucker never presented a shot. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  2. Don't need a special thread for that. You get the gist of who on here does the wounding of animals to save their egos. It's always the ones that has something to prove. Perfect example above. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  3. I thought it was new, as in brand spanking new. Good deal on helping a friend. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  4. Left over tags were sent in the mail, doesn't mean there will be extras for NOV 1st. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  5. The first shot with the chrony close would determine muzzle velocity, then know how fast, or slow, and a rough estimate from the first shot, you can place the same chrony at 50 yards and take another reading. You'll have everything you need at that point to calculate BC, speed, energy, etc. It's a little annoying to do on your own, but its doable. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  6. A simple chrony can fix that, yes? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  7. So... What exactly we you agree on? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  8. If he has a history, send out the pics of the horns and get the word out. If he wants the guy caught, donut on the down low with local taxi's and local bars. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  9. Why not purchase at the bow shop instead? I know Smithpoint archery has a pretty good deal on bows and service if you bought there. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  10. I'm not religious, so you can keep your god crap to yourself. I hope you say out this time, for good. Save me more time to troll other threads. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  11. Then you'll really scare off all the deer, lol. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  12. If you are hunting rifle or ML, I'd hit those power lines. Slugs, stay in the woods within 100 yards ad don't frustrate yourself seeing those out of range. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  13. Boy you guys are killing it! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  14. The OP's thread was about 2 BH, not 2 BH and a FP. You went off tangent talking about PA regs and siting false info about NY regs, then when called on it, you went ad did your research. Research that many of us already did when we became hunters of NYS. Don't get all butt hurt because some members lashed out at you. That's how most of the folks on this forum do, so you either fit in, or you don't. I appreciate the PM btw, but I seriously don't have the room for your inappropriate non-sense in my inbox. I need to fill it with other HuntingNY related non-sense. So please don't PM me anymore. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  15. Amatos is across the river off RT 100 in Somers. They only do processing not taxi X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  16. They wanted to be famous, now they are. I'm glad DEC issued tickets regarding the 6-point deer head. Hope they do the same to those taking road kill without reporting it. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  17. I always read the entire thread before commenting, unlike Belo. I don't think there was any bragging involved, just stating a fact that accuracy is better than any BH out there and to prove his point, he used an example, albeit it was an illegal one. You asked twice for the siting of this law, when there really isn't one. And I suppose some members didn't want to spoon feed you so they snapped at you. Can't blame them, you should be the one familiar with NY regs, and stop siting PA ones. This is mainly a NY site. I can see ethics being very gray most of the time, but even I will disagree that carrying a FP afield while pursuing white tail deer is not unethical. The act of taking one is not only unethical, but also illegal as stated. Unethical usually falls in the category of what one thinks is right or wrong, within their skill sets. If I can shoot a deer in the head 500 yards away every time, its ethical for me to do so, but if you can't, then its unethical for you. Has nothing to do with if I did it with a hollow point or a FMJ. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  18. No, you're a horrible person because you made assumptions before the whole story came out. You should of waited and then let the bashing begin. You sir, single handedly ruined a perfectly bash-potential thread. BTW, intelligence comes in many forms, not all of them in the form of grammar. Although, having good grammar helps in convincing others of their schooling. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  19. Excellent advice. Pays big to know your ECO. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  20. Deer search made the right decision to take other calls. Had they took this one, someone else may not have recovered their deer. When the demand is more than the supply of resources, its only logical to choose to pursue the highest of possibilities for a recovery. Not a lot understand this, but if I am ever in need of their volunteer services, I'll be grateful that they come out and won't begrudge them for being too busy. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  21. You definitely have the luck, now work on those shots! Look forward to seeing successful pics. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  22. I use broken arrows that I've repaired or arrows that I find for small game. I won't care as much if I lose them or break them shooting at squirrels. Yes, I carry at least 1 FP in my quiver when I'm in the woods. I switch from deer, to squirrel, to whatever else that I can legally take at that moment when hunting with my bow, or any weapon of choice. I'm allowed I do so, legally. What I don't get is, just because you think others can't switch back and worth reliably, doesn't mean it should be law. Perhaps you can't distinguish, or can't remember, but I check and double check all the time which head and arrow I'm ready to pull from the quiver and shoot. I carry 4 arrows, all with a different head on each. From closest to furthest, G5 Montec CS, Rage 2" mech, Stinger fixed, and a FP. If and when it comes a point when I can't remember my arrows, its time to change up the game to keep me legal. But I certainly don't need people like you telling making laws telling me I can't bring a FP with me into the woods while pursuing multiple species of game. Also, no one is obligated to siting or linking you the regs of NYS, it is YOUR responsibility to know them and follow them. If you think its illegal to carry FP to the woods, by all means don't do it. I often like to correct other members when they are wrong on the regs, but i do so only because I don't want new hunters misguided. Asking, then bashing other members for your lack of knowledge shows that you're not only lazy, but not too bright. You picked the wrong argument to get into. My advice to you, take the good from these forums, and leave the bad. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  23. Been out twice on a new piece in 3S, so far 2 for 2. Passed the shots because I didn't feel they were close to my comfort zone. A change could be a very good thing. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  24. I don't see anything wrong with my question. But obviously you do, and since its your thread, I'll respect your request. I hope you can PM me the answer Early! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  25. GULP! Was around 60 years ago? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
