  1. sorry if my reading comprehesion wasn't up to your par (your pre-edited comment) however 1350 fps is roughly 920 mph 100 fps less is about 850 mph, really doesnt make much of a difference at 40 yrds figuring things out on paper is useless, only way to tell is to shoot the load/choke/gun combo period and i wouldn't expect the same results between Nitro, Lead or HEVI shot
  2. to my knowldege Winchester Supreme 3" 1 3/4 oz #5 1350 F.P.S. Remington Premier Magnum 3" 1 3/4oz #5 1350 F.P.S.
  3. Randy Jones is a great guide to fish with, know the river very well
  4. heavy gun due to the barrel, Kicks pretty good, great bear gun but overkill deer gun shoots 240 grains so the bullet drop is significant at longer ranges, pretty sure it has a ported/muzzle break on the barrel for deer i cant see any advantage over a 35rem probably more of a disadvantage for bear its great though

    TICS!

yes upstate in years past you could roll around in the leaves and never see a tick, in 15 deer butchered in the past 10 years i had only seen a tick 2 times, this year my 1 deer had over 10 ticks come off it
  6. your gun will like/shoot a specific load best, the more you can test the better but it can get expensive best bet is to split a bunch of boxes with friends, i only shot 2 kinds the winchester supreme and the remington premier magnums,,, noticable improvement in the remingtons
  7. C&B really is a great bunch of guys, they do however take some shortcuts in tuning in my opinion, example sometimes if you are shooting high or low raplph will slide your peep up or down, in my opinion you should never move your peep, moving your peep makes you reach or squat thus changing your natural anchor. after setting your centershot & nock point (either level or 1/8" high, you should draw your bow back to a comfortable/natural anchor with your eyes closed, at full draw open your eye thats where your peep should be set and stay there. now move your sight to adjust for elevation and windage. then move onto broadhead tuning
  8. his buddy showed me the pic 2 days after he shot it. Northfork private land has some beasts
  9. he could see your arrows porpoising at 11yrds? or you were shooting the full 20 when he noticed it either your nock point is off or your shooting an arrow thats way underspined whats your draw weight/length and what arrow are you shooting?
  10. Yes that was taken on Long Islands northfork
  11. Last year i picked up an 870 Supermag in12GA i put on a xtra full Primos Tight Wad choke ($25 @ dicks) and 2 boxes of shells Winchester Supreme 3" and Remington Premium 3" the remington's outperformed the winchester supremes i had about 50-60 pellets in the head/neck at 35-40 yrds
  12. seasonal pass from Oct 1st - Oct. 31st you can hunt Rocky Point, Otis Pike and David Sarnoff Pine barrens You simply pull up to a numbered parking spot, long as it is not occupied , place seasonal permit on your dashboard and hunt. no daily check in is required to hunt rocky point in Oct.
  13. he had 14+" G2's looked more like a mule deer then a white tail aged at 5.5 so it was probably bigger last year
  14. its a shame, wasn't intentional though 80yrd shot, he's already taken a 130" 6 a 120" 8 and a 150+" 13 this year, he was quite unhappy to see it's wasnt a doe
  15. good luck to all, i will be out there Jan. 20th Bucks are already shedding, my neighbor was out yesterday took what he thought was a doe, ended up being a shed buck aged 4.5 yrs dressed @128lbs
  16. there are other opportunities to hunt on Long island via the seasonal pass, some don't require a daily check in. If you are a resident of Suffolk county even more opportunites open up, I have hunted upstate for the past 17 years both bow and rifle and although i do love the Big Woods feel of upstate as far as deer numbers and racks upstate can't compete with long island. not to mention lack of tolls, gas and travel time.
