Make your own. Look for hi-carbon (not stainless) blades and add hardwood or laminated scales. The blades will stain...look like hell...but are easily sharpened and cut well. Other than that....CUTCO

Nothing like fried perch fillets. Pickerel are tasty, but boney; grind those for some of the best fish cakes ever!

Every deer I ever shot with a bow could just as easily have been killed with a .410. I own six .410's; love to hunt rabbits and hares with them. Not my first choice for deer (if legal), but if a .410 was all I had...I'd tackle deer with it!

I'm sure you are right...I will give it a try! Thanks!

This is the way I finally did them: Pat drumsticks dry...salt and pepper well...and arrange on non-stick foil in baking pan. Bake in 425 degree oven for 50 minutes; Then toss in Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce....Delicious!!!! These went over well...will definitely do again!

Interesting article.

Looks like Obama might not get his "assault weapons" ban. That's good for the country, as a whole, but....where does it leave us in NY? Let's hope we see a formal move to repeal...SOON!!! -

Stopped at Walmart this morning to buy .380 ammo: Bought one box of the three they had left. Then drove on to GUNS INC. in Schodack....Their shelves are full of ammo; no apparent shortage whatsoever, and they have not raised prices, that I could tell.

Concrete Action To Restore Our Gun Rights

Concrete?...Maybe: We are still way behind in the mainstream media; more people on our side changes nothing....Our choir was already singing. -
Concrete Action To Restore Our Gun Rights

OK, you regular posters, where are your stories or real action on our behalf. What can you relate that has transpired since Cuomo's edict that protects our rights?? Be specific....No touchy, feely stuff.....Tell me what has been donte that really affects our gun rights! -
Concrete Action To Restore Our Gun Rights
Early replied to Early's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
NYSPRA action is good....County Boards of Supervisors' letters of opposition (any letters of opposition) are just letters. Let those same supervisors advise every court in their county to NOT prosecute violators of Cuomo's laws; that will mean something. We, the people of NY, are being played for fools....by our elected officials who are doing NOTHING and by law enforcement agencies who stand ready to enforce Brother Andrew's edicts! -
Thus far, I have seen no concrete action to restore the gun rights we lost to Cuomo's new gun lasws. Marchione threatens repeal action but has done nothing...Law enforcement agencies offer mild protests and promise to enforce the laws...meeting after meeting is held...letter after letter is written, and NOTHING concrete has been done...at least nothing that I know of. Let's use this thread to report REAL ACTION undertaken to restore/protect our gun rights. (No "good intentions"...no "lip service"...just real action(s) that may have a positive effect.) I look forward, with little hope, to seeing something soon.

I have done that, too....but not when the temp. is in the teens!

Good suggestions....Thanks to both of you!

Anyone have a recipe for Buffalo drumsticks as a meatier substitute for chicken wings? Thanks, Early

Not long ago, I spent a day hunting snowshoe hares in the Adirondacks, shooting a single barrel 12 ga. Steens 94 that I had bought way back in 1958...shooting old paper hull shells of the same vintage. Both performed without a hitch...meat on the table!

Pygmy, you are a jerk! I think the last Colt Trooper was made in l969. And, yet you say no more powerful ammo has been made since then. I repeat, you are a jerk! For the record: Take a Colt Trooper and a Ruger GP 100...Lay them out side-by-side and tear them apart. You will find that the Ruger is a much better made, much stronger revolver. OK, little pig....take your shots!
