Nice looking piece!! Any concerns with using contemporary ammo in an older revolver like this? Whatever....I hope you are able to come up with enough ammo to shoot it often. Let us know how things go after your first range session.

This Is What We Must Worry About

Article in Albany Times Union today: Saratoga County Sheriff's department "opposes...but will enforce" Cuomo's new gun laws. Did they not take an oath to support the Constitution? If law enforcement agencies/organizations only had the guts to say, "We will not enforce.....!", maybe these laws could be repealed.

What scares me about Cuomo...
Early replied to sits in trees's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
What scares me??....Any governor that points his finger at the people with such a pained expression on his face is.....SCARY!!! -
Read the directions carefully...Make sure you know where your thumbs go!

Here's a suggestion: I recently hosted a venison lunch for my hunting group. Among other venison treats, I served them VENISON SCALLOPED POTATOES. Everyone loved this simple dish. Layer thin sliced potatoes, onions, and cooked ground venison, and add two one-cup packets of powdered beef boullion and a heaping teaspoon of brown gravy mix to your regular spice/sauce mix. Follow your usual scalloped potato recipe....or, PM me for my method.

I have always thought that a dog's name should be...one sylable only..something that does in no way rhyme with any obedience command.

Serve?....Perhaps; Protect?....Police are not obligated to protect the people. (Hey, there was a functional police force in Newtown.) Their work is generally cleanup, after-the-fact.

I have an older 2-cycle Jiffy...cuts big 8" holes FAST!

obama ask brass to fire on americans
Early replied to greensider's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This reinforces the need for the Second Amendment....and, again suggests that govt. forces (military & police) could/would be used against us....of course, "Just obeying orders!" -
I'd go with the Ruger.....Super strong revolver!

Question: Does Sig recommend carrying with a round in the chamber, and the hammer down? With my Colt Mustang, If I want to carry a round in the chamber, I will carry in "condition one"..."cocked & locked". I just don't like the idea of carrying a round in the chamber with the hammer down. Please advise....

First suggestion: Do not set out to train the perfect dog. I am not sure such even exists. My only hunting dog was a black lab that I trained to be an all-purpose dog. She was just that: Without a doubt, she was the best pheasant dog and the best snowshoe hare dog in our whole area during her lifetime. In addition, with her, I successfully hunted cottontails...grouse...waterfowl...and, yes, even turkeys. I attribute my/our success to two things: First, she was a natural born hunter, and second, I let her hunt...never demanded that she hunt. I never used forced training...no electronic collars...no stern discipline. Most of my training was based on Woolter's book FAMILY DOG...and family dog, she was. Once I finished her basic obedience training, I taught her to trail game by playing "fetch" with her, after dark, using a scented softball. She got real good...real fast! Note: If you want a perfect dog....Go to a toy store and buy a remote controlled make-believe dog.

Best comment I saw......"There was hope the first time.....none, now!" -
Uh, Oh....Brother Andrew will be at your door soon!

The Ruger SP101 is a great little revolver...probably as strong as you will find. I found mine to be a little heavy, but that weight really tamed +P .38's and the .357's. I traded my snubbie 101...Now thinking of buying the new model with the 4.25" barrel....great trail gun.

Ruger has thouroughly impressed me!!!

Question: Is the 10/22, with its ten round magazine now an illegal gun? Same question for the Ruger MK autoloader pistols? -
Will all the new NY gun laws apply to the police? If not, why not? Will the good governor and the NY legislators be protected in the future by police who carry handguns with magazine capacity greater than that permitted for the general populace? Are the governor and the legislators more worthy of protection than are you and I? If we outlaw so-called "assault weapons", will police SWAT teams still be allowed to use them? Why? With the government forces (police) and the "bad guys" possessing "assault weapons" in the future, where will that leave us, the "good guys"?? Lastly, are we fast becoming a State/Nation of two classes: the Nobility and the Commoners?

You will enjoy it....Dee Brown is GOOD. I purchased my copy way back in the early 70's shortly after it was published. This reading will be my fourth! -
First thing to do is thoroughly read the regs. booklet you will get with your license....lots of info in there.
