Whoa, Skillet.....I can support the second amendment totally, while saying that Hillarry is a more skilled politician than whacky Palin. The two really have nothing to do with each other. Palin may support gun rights, but she is still a moron. You need to consider things a little more carefully. You have obviously falley prey to the "Bo0gey Man" philosophy: There is a liberal behind every tree just waiting to take away our rights/freedoms. Well, buddy boy, our traditional American freedoms suffered way more under Dubya than they will probably ever, under any subsequent liberal. Do yourself a favor...Walk slowly, and look behind your every now and then.....the Boogey Man may be catching up! Ha Ha Ha!!!

Question: Are modern shotguns with rifled barrels currently legal in Tompkins?

Facts/Reasons: Bush - Iraq War.....Palin - Quits office to which she was elected Both are "All Hat....No Cowboy!" (For the record: I voted for Bush...ONCE!) Fans of Palin and Coulter are most certainly intellectually challenged. Sadly, for the country....they vote. Warning: Be careful how you respond to needling...It is easy to display your ignorance!

Wow....Great recipe! When I was growing up, hash was a staple. It was always the last meal of whatever meat we had been fortunate enough to have recently. Hash is truly "Poor man's food...Fit for a king!" Thanks, Early

I view Obama as a "failed experiment", but he will be re-elected if the Republicans cannot come up with a good candidate. If they do come up with a good candidate, and Palin is in anyway attached to the party line...they will lose! I think the solution to all of this is for the Democrats to come up with a suitable replacement and have a primary race all of their own.

You can do the same thing with wild turkey cutlets. Just pound them well; they ARE tough!

After butchering our rabbits (cottontail or snowshoes) we pack the backstraps separate from the leg quarters for freezing...or immediate use. For a really great sandwich, try this: Remove the silverskin from the backstraps and pound gently to about 1/4" thick. (This is to change the shape...backstraps need no tenderizing) Then shake the backstraps in plain flour...coat well with a thick batter of Bisquick & beer...then roll in crushed Triscuits. Fry to a golden brown in shallow oil and serve on club or bordeaux rolls (long & narrow, like the straps) with shredded lettuce and garlic mayo. DELICIOUS!

Good point: Palin is BAD for the Republican party...even for the tea-drinkers, but they are in her league intelligence-wise, so they don't notice. For you worthies who think she is hot....Take her water skiing: You will like that bikini...and maybe you will catch an alligator! (Trolling with Sarah P...now the is yet another book title!)

We have many fishers where I live in NY. I have had several encounters with them...a few up close (3-4 yds) and personal. As we have seen the fisher population increase...we have seen the populations of cottontails and snowshoe hares decrease.

870 w/deer bll, rifle sites change to TruGlow sights
Early replied to jim335's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Really tough to improve an 870. If you are that dissatisfied with the factory sights...buy a Mossberg 500. Seriously, you guys who want to butcher an 870 barrel are nuts! Knock off really good factory sights, only to add back some plastic crap with hi-viz dots....gimme a break! Backing up: What is wrong with the 870 factory sights?....Can't see 'em??...Get a scope! Now...about the fully rifled barrel: Unless you hunt in a "shotgun only" area, where shots beyond 100 yds are common, you don't need it. Why pay big bucks for a rifled barrel, and then 3-4 times as much for ammo designed to shoot 200 yds., when you will never shoot beyond 100 yds?? If it ain't broke...don't fix it! -
870 w/deer bll, rifle sites change to TruGlow sights
Early replied to jim335's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I wouldn't do it, but then I'm not a big fan of the TruGlo sights. Better to buy, or trade for a new barrel with vent rib and remchoke system. You could add the TruGlo sights to that very easily, and by switching choke tubes have an all-purpose shotgun. -
All deer taste good. Good venison on the table starts with the field dressing...skinning/butchering...proper storage...and cooking techniques: do all of this correctly and you will have good meat. Notice I did not mention aging....I sometimes butcher them the same day they are shot... sometimes after hanging a few days...no difference in the meat, that I can detect.

I agree with phade...use a patent attorney. I tried to do it on my own...got close, but not quite.

Check your history....Not sure about that Israeli military comment. I think the .35 Rem. was around before Israel was created.
