  2. Once in a life time deer. Dwarf melanistic whitetail buck! Could you even imagine.
  3. A few years back a bear about that size was taken in Northern NJ of all places. It was a state record and was done in a full body mount that now resides at the NJ F&G Hackettstown Outdoor Museum near the Del Water Gap.
  4. Michigan Bear hunter Art Jackson and his 1943 record Black Bear. State game managers measured the beast at 6' 6 1/2" long and 5' 7" in girth. Its hind feet were 9" long and 4 1/2" wide. and its front feet were 8" long and 5 1/2" wide. Reports say the bear weighed 873 pounds. Art killed 109 bears during his 70 year hunting career.
  5. Went out yesterday evening to fill my doe tag and was successful. Got a nice fat doe that will fill my freezer to the brim as the third deer going in it this season. I'll also be able to present a few friends with some venison to try for the first time. If (when) they like it, I tell them they will have to come hunt with me to get some more in the future. It was a good year for me. I'll be enjoying tenderloin and backstraps for quite some time in 2024. Now I start getting serious about hunting yotes.
  6. An internet site. https://lens.google.com/search?ep=gisbubb&hl=en&re=df&p=AbrfA8ruIbchRM4uZTsyXWkbkORzattwLVNdAV_cfxgxbNqG5yzUby9K3_hBRJUXNB09IPQtPkk9A_5velQr8TJsBShmbxRX5R2hQV6FO-lYcBTisPT_Ue_aoyhyHRtAHIQ_hVvEUOTTGo5lUfrhdtgriUTaObgvT1OHRAjuWj2q217hD1h8zSNVg6KYIguMCZP6V1jMbJx2pkxOzA%3D%3D#lns=W251bGwsbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGwsbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGwsIkVrY0tKREF5WTJObE5tVXpMVEZrTlRrdE5EZGpOaTA0TXpkakxXRmpaRGcwWVdVeE9EQXpZUklmUlRsSlptOHhiemx1T1dOVFVVVjFlRFl4WHpJd1dFTmpZbmt0T1hsNFp3PT0iXQ==
  7. I agree. Don't think the US market is too keen on straight pull actions. Ambidextrous ability is something lefties might like though.
  8. Just another leftist idiot thinking they are all powerful. The SCOTUS is about to slap all of these fools with the Constitution. Colorado already reversed itself. The Judges didn't want history to record how corrupt they are.
  9. The state wants the fewest amount of ffl's in business as possible. The harder it is for us to buy guns and ammo, the better these leftists like it.
  10. That's the other reason for these checks to get govt approval. They will add as many reasons as they can to deny your purchase.
  11. I you use a cap lock ML like a Hawken, you need to keep the primer dry as well. Same goes for a flint lock, which is even harder to do.
  12. And if you have any powder for reloading and any bullets in the caliber those commemorative pistols are bored for, you can bet the state will assume you are guilty until you go to court and prove your innocence at your expense. BTW, if you are charged, the state will confiscate EVERYTHING firearm related you own. The idea is to intimidate people and make them fear doing anything the state doesn't like, even if it's legal.
  13. The problem is when you do a NICS check for the first time, they have no info in the database on you, so they have to check more sources for the first time. This is why they delay your sale. Once you are approved the first time, future sales refer them to the prior approval and it becomes faster. Personally, I am not ever going to buy any ammo in NY, because they are using the info to set up an unconstitutional registration data base of everyone that ever buys ammo in NY. They may already have an unconstitutional registration data base on everyone who ever did a NICS check for a gun in NY, but that is illegal by law and they don't know about guns that were transferred in the past without any FFL involved or a NICS check being done. They want everyone on their radar. That can only be for one reason. Future confiscation.
  14. It's a good choice for a low recoil round when shots are under 75 yards in thick cover, and if used in a lever action rifle, follow up shots are quick. I have a .357 Mag in a Rossi 92 as well. It's a real pleasure to carry when hunting. Besides deer, it works great on coons, porkies, woodchuck and the close range yote. Loading it with .38 Special rounds lowers recoil even further, but is limited to small game.
  15. In case you ever wanted to know. https://www.rd.com/article/what-does-auld-lang-syne-mean/?utm_source=join1440&utm_medium=email
