  1. It's racist. There's no way to deny it. Democrats firmly believe discrimination against whites is OK. Whites should've drawn the line in the sand in the 70's when Affirmative Action started.
  2. Not sure if this counts as bagging a moose.
  3. Not yet. Sometimes it takes 48 hours. Lots of candles, bottled water and stove being used a lot. It's an electric co-op and they quit when it gets dark.
  4. This morning saw heavy wet snow about 6" deep all around. At 5:45 AM a tree hit the wires on my road and the power went out. For me that means no heat or water without electric. Went out for awhile to look for tracks, after finding none, went back home to wait for the power to come back on. At least it's warm enough outside ( about 40 now) to keep anything from freezing.
  5. But it puts holes in the receiver and lowers the value. Just an FYI.
  6. Vista Outdoor, a parent company of over three dozen companies, including several in the firearms industry, sent a letter to its distributors and dealers that prices of ammunition and gunpowder will be rising significantly. https://redstate.com/mdempsey/2023/12/04/ammunition-and-gunpowder-prices-are-about-to-rise-even-higher-in-2024-n2167144
  7. The AE uses a normal eye relief scope, unless you mount it on the barrel as a scout style rifle. I would look for a good used Leupold 1.5-5x20mm or a 2-7x33mm in a Vari-x or VX II model. They work great and have a lifetime warranty that applies no matter who owns it now.
  8. This could threaten the possession of ALL semi-auto firearms. https://www.nraila.org/articles/20231201/federal-legislation-introduced-to-ban-gas-operated-semiautomatic-firearms
  9. They Winchester 94 AE lever gun was designed for scope use. As long as you use one that isn't too big and powerful for the round being fired, it will enhance your ability to shoot deer with the rifle. I like small scopes on my lever guns, the biggest being a 1.5-5x20mm. It's more than enough to use on targets out to 300 yards, which is really the practical limit of range for the .30-30 round. More importantly, it has a low enough setting to allow for quick use on close range shots. The most I would consider for that rifle would be a 2-7x33 compact scope. Anything bigger is unnecessary and will throw off the balance of the rifle and negate the ability to use it quickly at close range.

  11. Rumor has it that Hochul is going after reloading supplies after 1/1/24 and will require them to go thru an FFL too.
  12. The chairman of the Herkimer County Legislature, Vincent Bono, told the Observer-Dispatch the loss of revenues to the entire community “will have concerning effects going forward for the progress of Ilion and Herkimer County.” UMW International President Cecil E. Roberts called the closure announcement “disappointing” and the timing before the holidays “a slap in the face.” “Workers in Ilion,” Roberts’ statement said, “enabled RemArms to rise from the ashes of Remington Arms bankruptcy in 2020-21. Without these workers…this company simply would not exist.” That might be true. But Roberts ignores a political climate in New York that’s neither welcoming nor conducive to locating any firearms-related company there. Republican legislators in the area were quick to point that out, releasing a statement that said: “Unfortunately, like we have seen all too often in New York, burdensome regulations, crippling taxes and problematic energy and other policies continue to force businesses and companies to flee the state, taking jobs and livelihoods with them. We will continue to communicate with state and federal officials and work to help and assist the company’s employees and their families during this difficult times.” Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-21) was somewhat more pointed in placing blame for the RemArms decision -and suggesting a remedy that will certainly irk most in the states political leadership. “It is because of New York Democrats’ unconstitutional gun grab policies that the oldest gun manufacturer in the country has been run out of the state,” Stefanik’s statement reads, “I have spoken with local officials and Remington Arms union members in the United Mine Workers of America, Local 717, about how we must stand up to New York’s failed unconstitutional gun bans.” Politically speaking, Stefanik’s not wrong. But there are other considerations RemArms cited while describing the “challenges” to operating in Ilion. Those include everything from the need for excessive handling of product and materials due to the plant’s layers, expenses of running a steam plant -and paying the associated natural gas and utility costs- for almost a million square feet of space (much of which is unused), and high and unexpected costs for maintenance and insurance. RemArms letter also mentions “an environment in Georgia that supports and welcomes the firearms industry.” That points out the biggest fallacy in pro-manufacturing arguments in the states that form the manufacturing area of the east coast that was once described as “gun valley.” Politicians and labor officials bemoan every potential loss of jobs and attendant tax revenues, but continue to pass legislation designed to punish those same companies. It’s a disconnect that has finally begun too-much for companies to ignore.
  13. Anyone who cannot see how Democrat policies are the cause of this demise, is not capable of analytical thinking.
  14. I hope those people who are losing their jobs realize Hochul is the reason and not Remington. the company would never be able to survive in NY and their jobs would be gone soon anyway.
  15. Just proves the Democrats have no regard for The Constitution, individual rights or due process. They want the power to control everything. You think they won't be selectively enforcing who goes to one of these "Quarantine Camps"? It will become a way to neutralize political opposition. China sends people to these camps, and others refer to those camp folks as people who were "disappeared". As far as elections go, I think Democrats have learned how to steal elections and get away with it. Therefore, we are not going to be able to vote our way out of this mess. The left is provoking a fight it seems to want. Perhaps they see it as a way to eliminate their political opposition and retain power for life. This is what you can expect when an election turns into a political coup, as it did in 2020.
