I think trophy hunters get DMPs because they would rather take a doe for meat than a small buck. They prefer to let the bucks grow for a few years. They would rather take a doe and then continue to hunt for a big buck, then take a small buck for meat. But I'm sure there are also trophy hunters that never apply for DMPs at all.

I sent them an e-mail and got a reply. The man said they haven't changed the formula and he was interested in calling me to discuss the situation. I sent him my number and a good time to call. We will see what results from that conversation. So far it sounds like the man is concerned about the problem and what I told him in the e-mail.

The more people out hunting for antlers, the more deer for those who need them for food. I don't see a problem with trophy whitetail hunting. Not everyone is doing it, but there's nothing wrong with it.

I hunt to test my skill sets. I've been honing them for over 50 years now. I love being good at hunting. Every part of it takes skill. It takes a lot of knowledge about firearms or bows, woods lore and the prey animal, to be successful. I love being a good game shot and do get a thrill in placing the perfect one shot kill on a game animal. It means I did it right and the animal did not suffer more than necessary. I like knowing I'm good at it and enjoy every aspect of it. I think if I sucked at hunting, I would've quit hunting years ago. Success is what keeps me coming back for more. Like any athlete that has perfected his game, you want to keep doing it as long as you have the ability to be good at it. Plus you want to be better at it every time you do it. As far as the meat goes, nothing is as healthy as wild game. Venison is low fat and high protein, as is much game meat. It's not loaded with hormones or chemicals or anything else you don't want to put into your body. It's good for you and you can't buy it. If you want it, you have to hunt for it. I like it, so I like to hunt for it. I also hunt, because if I didn't, I would be one really depressed individual every fall and winter. P.S. Nothing wrong with hunting for antlers. Nothing there to apologize for as long as the animal isn't wasted after the kill. If that's what gets you up and out hunting, that's good.

Ask your questions here. You will get answers that come from experience and are peer reviewed. Believe me. If someone here is wrong, everyone else will let them know. LOL!

The reason the govt is pushing for 100% vaccine use is so it can eliminate the control group of people who never got it. This way in the future when people start to grow a third ear, they won't have to worry about people who didn't get the shot, and don't grow a third ear, proving the shot caused it. Vaxed folks still get the virus, still transmit it and still die from it, just like unvaxed folks, so what exactly is the reason everyone should get vaxed? The unvaxed are taking a risk that can only hurt them, nobody else. And why must people who've had the virus, survived and have the antibodies already, get vaxed? Science says pushing the vax isn't justified.

Optics do gather more light so they do make it easier to see when it is getting dark. A good set of binocs are worth their weight in gold. But a good set doesn't have to cost a fortune. Good binocs can be had for $200. Study the details about binocs to learn what you want and need. I have found 8x40mm binocs to be perfect for hunting in NY where your shots will be 300 yards or less. Plenty of magnification to check out antlers and plenty of front lens to gather enough light to see at dawn or dusk.

Misdirection and distraction from those in power, to keep the masses from noticing what's going on in the country. The more corruption bubbling to the surface, the more of this crap we will see.

Actually you can wear a hat that is only 50% orange or pink, meaning a camo orange hat is all you legally need.

It continues to seem that there's little rhyme or reason to COVID's spread or severity. Vaccinated or unvaccinated, masked or unmasked, people still catch it and sometimes die from it. Draconian lockdowns or business as usual, people still catch it. More Americans have died of (or with) COVID during Joe Biden's presidency than Donald Trump's, yet only the latter is blamed for killing people.

This is about not giving up emergency powers and abusing them. These leftists are all about power and control to the detriment of us all. This variant is said to be milder than the symptoms one gets from the vaccine. Why the psycho response then? State of Emergency Declared in New York: 'It's Coming' State of Emergency Declared in New York: 'It's Coming' (westernjournal.com) It's not deadly as far as we currently know. Missed opening day last year with food getting stuck in my esophagus. Tore it trying to cough up the stuck food piece. Blood came up, so off to Albany med for a couple of metal clips in there to stop the bleed. Still got to hunt after 2 days of rest, but was really mad I missed the opener. Meds are keeping the problem under control now.

I purchased 2 bottles of Indian Buck Lure this year. I've always used it and I have always felt it works. The bottles I bought this year seem to have no scent to them. This lure always had a very strong, pungent, musky scent to it and you could smell it very easily when you used it. The ones I bought this year seem to have very little musk scent. In fact, they have very little scent at all. Has the formula been changed? I don't have any confidence in these new bottles and am quite disappointed in them. I don't plan on buying more if this is what I will get from now on. I sent an e-mail to Rickard's yesterday but have not gotten a reply yet. Anyone have any idea what is the story with the one's I just bought. I know many lure companies have been forced to go synthetic, buy I would think they would want to duplicate the old smell. Anyone using something else they are happy with?

I know a kid who got lucky like that with a 10 point buck for his first deer. We call it the beginner's curse, as he hasn't been able to take a nice buck ever since, and it's been 20 years. He still says he'll take luck over skill anytime. LOL! This kid is to be congratulated on that buck for sure. I wonder where he was hunting if he was able to pass up other bucks before he shot that one. I would imagine a young man would want to shoot his first buck at the first opportunity that presented itself. Hard to imagine passing up bucks to shoot a big one as your first. Anyway, he has a great memory to store away now.
