  3. go to the dec website they list all classes by county
  4. according to what we were told as instructors, the cost is supposed to go down \slightly with the new system
  5. when you go get your license now what piece of id do they ask for? It is linked now. when students take a class from me if they have a license, it is put on the registration form.
  6. hell all the guy wanted was ideas for his letter.
  7. does anyone else find it funny that there has been scarce ammo for a long time. Now all of a sudden the stores are packed just in time for the background check to have been starting? You can still order ammo from other states, but it has to be shipped to an ammo sales place to be picked up. I can not picture many places willing to let you ship ammo to their place of business and do paperwork for free when they sell ammo to make money. Most places are not even planning to sell ammo after this gets started.
  8. 45v here this morning when I got up now 12 and down to zero tonight with 20-30 mph west winds. I will take it over the 4 feet of snow predicted for tug hill by wednesday.
  9. simple facts like background checks for ammo and the cost renewing handgun permists and if renewal is denied you lose all guns in the home. areas of the counrty with the most gun cointrol is where the most gun crimes happen. Cite the detroit mayor who said gun crimes will go down where citizens carry. The shootings happen in gun free zones. criminals do not follow the laws etc
  10. wrong and phade clarified it for you. You are not ready to shoot until you are on your target simple as that. there are not two definitions. If you do not carry for defense, it is easy to see why you do not understand that.
  11. I do not see it as lack of judgement. It is lack of proper training. How many here have actually taken any self defense gun courses? Or tactical training in the use. if not you are a sitting duck, and will likely be killed with your own gun. getting a permit buying a gun and going to the range to shoot it once every few months is very inadequate.
  12. Grow the definition of ready to fire is just that ready to fire. I asked do you wait to chamber a round until the deer you want to shoot is in front of you? If not you are chambered before you are ready to fire? According to what I read in the article the place had other people there including a baby.
  13. my only advice give more facts about the safe act and what it will do to the average gun owner who thinks they are exempt because they do not own a "assault weapon." Use it as an educational forum also.
  14. false registering a gun under an unconstitutional law is ludicrous The next poster is ready to revolt if necessary
  15. a cc handgun which is typically carried for self defense is not much use without a chambered round. Do you not chamber a round when hunting until ready to shoot? By ready to shoot I mean the deer in front of you.
  16. yuppers not fit to own any firearms is how they word it
  17. I love my smith m&p 40. I have never been a fan of 380 or 9 mm. Just personal preference.
  18. False. I did not take a shot but I am not sorry. The next poster filled all of their tags this fall.
  19. Anyone who would make that video and brag about it thinks theirs is bigger anyway.
