not as bad as 98 by a long shot so far. Most got much more prepared after 98. The big worry as far as I am concerned is all the trees and wires with no warm up to get the ice off them

Oh we have more than an inch of ice. I drove my truck across my yard and never broke though today. below zero for the next couple nights and no warm up in sight. Lines ares till hanging with ice. My plow would not break through to plow my driveway just kept going over the top. I will have a friend with a tractor here tomorrow to clean it up. Vehicles are driving on top right now anyway.. Still over 20 thousand total without power and below zero tonight and tomorrow night. Merry Christmas to us.

even though we had nasty storm which is over now, I am glad I live in the part of the state where that attitude is still somewhat alive. It is slowly slipping away and we are doing all we can to fight the and no offense "city attitude". A simpler more casual life style has a lot to be said for it. I clean my muzzleloaders in my front yard and no neighbors complain. I leave my hous unlocked as well as my vehicles. My camp door is never locked. Yeah call me a hick, but this hick really enjoys not having to deal with the anti crap a lot of you do.

Have thr bob cat but not sure it is a great investment for camp when we 20 or so cord a year.

yup ice storm of 98. I remember it well. Does not seem that bad yet. The big difference will be that after that one we got 2 days of weather well into the 40's to melt it off trees and wires. None of that this time as it will turn the other way and be below zero the first part of the week causing more damage.

I am smack in the middle of that St. Lawrence county area they are talking about. :Last count over 3500 without power. Does not seem like a lot but in a rural area like this, that is a lot. Plus it is very difficult to get to them to get it back on. The first plow since 8 last night just went by. They have been running constant since Friday AM and needed a break also. No warm up to get the ice off the trees or lines. It is the people like a lot of them on here who defend taking them being taken away. it is no wonder we are in the state we are in. This si how the govt does it with the support if the zombies who follow along and are afraid to take a stand or if they do not agree with it, it has to go. be scared, be very scared..

One business said they would not make cakes for gay weddings. The gay couple sued and the govt told the business they had to make the cakes. Does anyone else see anything wrong with that.

Phil heard the news and went hunting I am sure. it is not about Phil Robertson. it is about the attempt to silence people who think like he does. Look at the attacks on here against free speech that is not the same as others. it scares me to think how things will be in 5 years if it does not change.
