That is like saying a parent should decide when a kid is ready to drive. There has to be standards. I personally think the age should be lowered to get them interested in hunting before everything else gets in the way. But as in everything some kids will be ready before others and some will never be ready. There has to be a standard

Funny every time there is any advancement in technology, the ones using the previous advancement cry foul. I have to chuckle at these who say their 80 percent let off and fiber optic pins are primitive. Get a recurve or long bow and shoot primitive then tell everyone how they are wrong. Bottom line crossbow will generate cash flow and w ill be in the archery season soon

Jesse, We can all including myself say what we would do. None of us really know your situation. Al I can say is I hope you do not treat your children as he has treated you. By posting this it shows how much it bothers you. I sincerely think you will not follow in the same foot steps. You are not responsible for your father's actions. However you are not obligated to cover them up either. In the end you will do what you see as right. Happy hunting

So what if "Dad" decides to do this three or four more times this year? How much is too much? Look at this the other way. Any Dad should be saying to his son, hey there is a 12 point near your stand go get him and good luck. He seems pretty selfish to me. We all let emotions cloud our decisions and I am glad I was never in this situation as my dad would have never considered this in the first place. Hell he would turn my butt in without hesitation. HUNTER INSANITY even effects families. Hunter competition and greed is a recipe for disaster just waiting to happen.

Know what I find funny. Guys take all the time to do all they can to be scent free then hop on a gas operated machine with gas and exhaust smells and park it 200 yards form where they plan to hunt. I wonder how many deer walk toward you and get near the 4 wheeler smell it or see it and turn away. The old guy we used to hunt with always said if you can not walk there, do not go there. That always stuck in my head and we used to do some long walks for sure.

My 4 wheeler does not move unless I am dragging something. I prefer to walk in and out every time
-
Well I parked a little further away from the door to get the exercise. Feel the burn

you mean like compound bows changed what we who use them like to call a primitive season it used to be? Compounds were the ruination of what archery season was meant to be years ago.

to see how many were ready to jump to conclusions and be ready to judge the whole situation.
-
Personally no I would not turn him in. I also would not hunt with him any longer and I would tell him why. I have lost or left behind hunting partners and friends and honestly family who decided to break the rules.

Green and black plaid wool coat green wool pants and orange camo. I see lots of deer without camo
-
now you are getting it

more likely started to see how many would know exactly what happened in the situation as they jump to conclusions and rush to judgement. No doubt sitting back getting the last laugh as everyone shares how bad he is. Who got who??? HMMMMMM

Yeah and maybe just maybe he does not care what any of us think and has nothing to prove to any of us.

And remember that contract will only apply to the current owners. If they sell, the new owners do not have to honor it

In the Northern Zone, we are not required to wear our tags on our back. I truthfully have always thought that was silly. if people want to see your numbers from a distance and do not have binos guess what they use. My tags are in my pack so orange or not they are unseen. As far as the orange on a bow hunter good for him. or her depending on the gender.

100 grains by volume is 70 by weight. there is a table on theor website that has all the weight to volume. www.blackhorn209.com

That is where I ordered my 5 pound container 196 to my door.

I hiked from the truck to the camp. A good solid 15 yards or so. Actually a few times to get things in. I hope your hunt works out.

I do not think you can pout in a deed where you can hunt. I am sure I will be told I am wrong but that would have to be settled with each land owner. Maybe they are buying it for him to shut you out. And btw you can hunt within 500 feet legally without permission, you need permission to discharge a firearm..

I bought the axis in 7-08. Came with the bushnell; scope for 225 out the door. I took the bushnell off and replaced it with a Nikon buckmasters 3x9x40. Trigger was a bit stiff as it does not have the accutrigger I adjusted the spring down myself to 3 pound pull and crisp. I load for myself with 140 grain remington corelokt and 41 grains of Varget it will do about 1.5 at 150. That is the furthest I have shot it. Action is smooth and I an very happy with it so far. I would recommend one to anyone. Trigger adjustment is simple took me 5 minutes.
