Or maybe the story is exactly the way it was written. Why do we automatically assume that if a confiscation took place, it must have had some level of justification. That is like a juror being asked the question, "Can the fact that the police made an arrest keep you from rendering an impartial decision in this case?" That question is frequently asked for the very reason that often perspective jurors do believe that an arrest indicates wrong doing by those arrested. I find that same mentality is prevalent among a lot of people. I generally side with law enforcement, but never say or even suspect that they are infallible, especially when it comes to the enforcement of a brand new law that few really understand the details and legal assumptions involved.
huh? we don't know if the story is exactly like written, do we?.....I don't recall anyone ever saying that they think the story is BS based on the cops always being right.

Do you smell what your shoveling when you say that being a firefighter and disabled makes you honorable? That is total bullshit, I know lots of firemen and while i am glad they risk their lives for life and property there are very few i would call honorable.
is there a point to attacking firefighters as a group?

But those things would've all been resolved without having to file a lawsuit against the County. There is more to this story, but it's more about illegal confiscation of firearms.
although it didn't specify, I was just thinking they may have revoked his pistol license......if that's the case, doesn't the SAFE Act call for the surrendering of all guns?........just a thought and a possibility, regardless of right or wrong.

Police Dept's have been removing firearms from residences for many years, this is far from something new..........unfortunately, we don't have the full story on any of this....does it state who called? if so, I missed it......maybe the adult son who still lives at home has some type of addiction or mental disorder that prompted this, who else get's into an argument over a frigging washing machine to the point that someone has to call the police?.........or maybe dad has some of those issues........maybe someone made a suicidal statement, we don't know, all possible reasons to remove the guns, but they certainly wouldn't result in any criminal charges.......

more importantly, I hope they were able to iron out the whole washing machine thing.........I mean, that is why the cops were called isn't it?

absolutely...........the part where the two adults needed Police to respond to the house just because of a verbal dispute over a washing machine was all I had to read.

We all know that even with 100% reporting there will never be 100% accuracy because of the lack of integrity of some hunters to report truthfully... but I would think the margin of error would be much lower if everyone reported.. a simple method where if you don't report you don't get a license again until you do... that would go for the lifetime licenses as well... regardless of how you report, you must report... whether by phone, computer or in person... whichever turns out to be most economical for the DEC. Everyone that hunts must buy a license each year.. that is when the reporting must be done (for lifers maybe by phone).. BUT.. no matter how, you don't get the new years tags until you do. .. like Doc says, in this day of computers there shouldn't be a lot of cost involved.
could it really be any simpler?

Again, I do not see how changes in that area would improve the integrity of the harvest reporting system. It probably is going over my head, or I'm misinterpreting something.
I would think the act of having to physically report at least one or two of the tags to get another would help to some degree.......certainly not a fix all.

I don't follow. Do you mean like one doe tag at a time? I wouldn't want that. It would stop the ability of taking multiple deer on the same day or out of the same group.
look at what they did years ago....you got one regular tag when you bought your license, if you bought the bow stamp, that tag was good for either sex during archery and if you were successful during archery, you were able to get a replacement that was for the regular season......additionally if you still had that tag come the late bow / muzzleloader season it converted back to an either sex tag..............doe tags were given out pretty much the same as now. Basically you would be given one tag that was good for all three seasons that could be replaced if filled if you bought the additional privilege, but you would have to report the take prior to getting the next one....and you still would have the dmps ahead of time.

so I'll assume that during archery season the temps may have gotten up there.....next time if you can't take care of it yourself in order to take care of the meat, spend the money and find a butcher who can.....I'll leave it at that.

if it hung for a week where temps never got above 40 degrees that isn't the problem....give us more info on how it was taken care of.

dead battery you say? no way....the other night before the blizzard hit us, I backed all the cars in the driveway....4x4 all the way in front.....went out at 4 a.m. to shovel to keep up with the storm and decided to start the cars and clean them off....guess which one was dead?.......luckily it turned out to be a corroded terminal on the trucks negative side, still no fun at 4 a.m. in 30 mile an hour winds with snow coming down sideways.

Thats allot of hooie to basicaly outline how they need to keep streets passable so the welfare addicts can get to the stores and use their ebt cards. We certainly wouldnt want them to fall and sue what remaining taxpayers are still there.

Yeah its a switchback 50. Awesome reviews across the net... There's a Matthews dealer near me in Chadwick's... (Utica/rome area) I'll be giving him a call at some point to try and source a can if I can't find one on big auction site
good idea, for the cost of almost $200.00 to have new strings, cables and cams, or whatever it may need to fit you...if it's even possible, you can get a fully outfitted bow off a decent archery auction site for just about twice that..and in all honestly you'll save money in the long run.

yeah, I had a heard of them come through my camp in the Catskills last year, they destroyed everything in their path.
