  1. The Dallas nurse is now Ebola free. I would think this NYC doctor is being treated early enough that he will be fine in a couple of a weeks.

see, nothing a little medicine can't clear up..........

  2. I think you could and should include slugs in that weapon. Its six in one and half dozen in the other. One single projectile running for a mile vs. a handful running for a couple hundred yards. Both are equally dangerous in my mind. The common denominator is the hunter pulling the trigger.

I decided to omit slugs from my comment due to the fact that the topic is about buckshot......obviously if you start slinging slugs around at running deer the whole game changes.

  3. is there really much difference in the safety aspect of jump shooting or shooting at running deer with buckshot then there is jump shooting and shooting at moving game with any other type of shotgun ammo (except slugs)?........not really.

  4. Got to love New Yorkers shooting those small deer

sounds like there's a lot more than just hunting in your DNA, maybe an extra chromosome too?

  5. of course it's easier, if I had been hunting with one from day one my archery take would probably be double what it is.....when I first started I hunted from the ground, drawing a bow while on the ground is a killer, you remove that aspect with a crossbow, all you gotta do is point it at the spot you expect it to step into your shooting lane and pull the trigger when it steps into your shooting lane...can't really argue with that aspect.

  6. it has nothing to do with age, I know plenty of guys in their 30's and 40's who are probably one Big Mac away from death, on the other hand I know guys in their 60's who still run marathons........

  7. I'm more disgusted by the guy who is only out there to shoot a big mature buck and then after he does, the meat is still in his freezer a year later and freezer burned or is fed to his dog, but the mount is proudly displayed for all to see...........I have more respect for the guy who shoots a deer of ANY size and color configuration and puts it to good use.

  8. Ever since my father and brother got turned in for hunting over corn on our lease the dec have been all over our area. Not only did they bust 2 guys with bait but got a few dozen helmet tickets. They now hang around high market all hunting season. It's the ticket honey pot

I'm assuming it's a "ticket honey pot", due to the overwhelming amount of violations.........

  9. do you mean DEC? no, you don't have to notify them if you can't recover, but don't even be considering that as an option at this point.........point of impact and the arrow can give you a lot of clues, and it should really be the point you start trailing, regardless of where you last saw the deer travelling.

  10. not sure how much experience you have, but many new hunters will think they have made a perfect shot and just plow headfirst in the direction they think the deer went, because "it's gotta be right there" and the result is a messed up bloodtrail and lost deer.......back out, take some time to relax and go back at it slowly and methodically and make sure you mark each spot.

  11. I wouldn't start making large circles at this point, you don't want to disturb what little bloodtrail there may be by walking all over it....hands and knees from first blood, and make sure you mark the spot before you move on to the next......liver shot could take a long time to expire as could a single lung hit.
