  1. yeah, he almost had me up until that comment.
  2. good question....but, I think the Genie is already out of the bottle.
  3. you can argue all you want....not gonna change that thought pattern. I'll be honest, you wanna know why I broke out the crossbow last year? because it was so much easier then trying to kill a deer with my compound.....plain and simple.
  4. just because someone is not for something, doesn't necessarily mean they're against it.........there's tons of stuff that isn't for me, but I could care less if someone else wants to do it. I won't fight for that cause, but won't stand in its way either.
  5. https://click.publicaster.com/ViewInBrowser.aspx?pubids=9614%7c631137%7c782480%7c789309&digest=9lkVdJAIs5GvZUsalSgJbA&sysid=1 anyone else get this email from Parker Bows?
  6. less hunters and the style of hunting today.....most spend all day in a stand as opposed to walking around, that's my guess anyway.
  7. 9 times out of 10 it's not the weapon that wounds an animal, it's the person wielding it.
  8. here's a Redd Foxx
  9. yup, now all I gotta do is buy a recurve and I'm in for all three...no complaints here at all.
  10. I'll give them the first week.
  11. right, it's not really split if you look at it like that....but that would be harder then getting full inclusion.
  12. I'm more for the preservation of separate seasons, or a progression of seasons then anything else.....I own a crossbow and was quite content with the way it is/was. I felt the same way when they allowed scoped inline muzzleloaders into that season......I won't fight against it and will use it more if it happens, but am quite content with the split season.
  13. funny you don't hear people complaining about the youth turkey or duck hunts..........must be a deer hunter thing.
  14. my son went with me from the age of about 8-10 through all types of weather, didn't need a youth hunt to take him...but when they made one, we took full advantage....and yeah, he still went during the regular season.
  15. supermarket was all out of wild hog.....
  16. I guess some people just hate kids........
  17. not to mention there are plenty of guys who use this opportunity to take out kids who aren't even theirs to go hunting......whether the kids come from non hunting households or maybe just nobody around to take them, not everything has a selfish, "I don't want to take my kids out any other time of the year" attitude about it. I think it's great.
  18. yeah, I would think that bowhunters leave a very small "footprint" in the woods compared to other activities....
  19. I looked too hard one year...wish I hadn't, but when you consider that you just killed an animal and are already arm deep in it's guts it's not that disturbing.
  20. yeah, I would think if crossbows get listed as archery equipment they would be fair game in any area that currently allows it....
  21. we got 1 out of 5 applicants where we hunt in the Catskills....just goes to show how varied the state is.
  22. funny how guys equate youth seasons with guys not taking their kids out any other time of the year.....that's quite the thought pattern.
  23. we would hope not, but I don't know what does or doesn't prevent others from doing things...sorry if I struck a nerve.
