  1. Really looking for a thick bush type plant, the property line I want to block is fairly shaded and partly wooded so it gets very little sun in the summer, tried white pine in the past but I think the lack of sunlight did them in....it's an area that we can't hunt, but if I can plant something that can provide some benefit to the wildlife I'd like to do that.
  2. perfect......better yet, she'll be deflatable.
  3. does anyone have an idea on what would make a good privacy screen? looking for a dense, fast growing bush, vine or anything along those lines......not really interested in trees, looking more for a bush type plant that needs little care, I'm looking to block of a neighbors property so I don't have look at him.......something that benefits wildlife would be a plus, and something that would grow in shady areas as well.
  4. I had one years ago....definitely a dangerous rig if you get a little crazy on it, I recall one of my friends getting his legs sucked up under the rear tires once, talk about road rash.
  5. I recently sold a few guns through a local shop that listed them on Gunbroker.com, I got more then I was asking for them....even after the auction fee and the gunshot taking their cut, something to consider especially if you have some rare or collectible ones to get rid of.
  6. I was just talking about the shooting times the other day, I was a little baffled why turkey hunting is 1/2 hour before sunrise and deer is not....I would think that someone would more easily misidentify a black blob in the woods for a turkey them someone would a deer that is more defined , but maybe I'm missing something and there's more to it then that.
  7. I have no desire to kill one, but I know several people who have had them damage the siding on houses and sheds.....they can be quite a nuisance, so I see no problem with people killing them.
  8. looks good.....try Minwax "golden oak" in the future....I found that to be pretty natural looking.
  9. any pictures of the beard? how long was it?
  10. just went from a 90% chance to a 60% chance......yeah, no way I'm staying home based on a weatherman's prediction.
  11. looks like it's going to be pretty crappy the first two days, at least in my zone....guess I'll give it a go anyway since I'm off work.....anybody gonna sit it out if it rains?
  12. I would think you're losing a lot of the neck area to aim at as well, especially at close range......shoot high and he gets a full load in the back and shoot low and either hit breast or miss completely and get ground, sitting at their level gives you a little leeway as far as that goes.
  13. always a chance they could be called off onto other property if there's any close by.....I wouldn't go the sit and wait route.
  14. I would think those hours are well after fly down most mornings, so they could be roosting a ways off......if there's other hunters in the area that would concern me about just sitting at that spot, I would either roost them or get in early and use locator calls and move in on them before shooting time.
  15. #3......I don't think it's a great shot angle as far as I see it.
  16. I feel uncomfortable putting on cruise control and not having my foot on the gas.....
  17. I think it regenerates a lot faster then most of us think....depends on the intensity of the fire sometimes.

  20. I usually keep a set of these around for those "smaller" birds...
