I splurged this year...Remington Core-Lokt in 150 grain for my .308..........hope it was worth the extra cash.

I'll do a lot of my own work.....but it all depends on what else I've got going on, I would rather pay the couple hundred in labor this time of year and spend the day doing something else...like hunting.
-
make sure the deer doesn't get hung up on something on the way out...........all you'll have left is the head.
-
shocks, struts and control arms last week..........$1050.00.
-
I'll tell you what....I would rather a bear shrink then grow, that's gotta be one helluva job getting something like that out of the woods.
-
Last year I bought these things to grab the hide, they are awesome. Highly recommend
I have something just like that.....I call them "hands"...but seriously, those would be nice to have had on some of the ice cold deer I've skinned.

I've been at it for a long time......still have that stuff happen to me. I told my wife, after a weekend of close calls and a miss, that I had a great time with lots of excitement, but the best part was that at the end of the hunt, me and the deer both got to go home, so it was a win win all around..........

You are looking a little sick, should probably call in
and a good thing to remember is that nobody gets sick for only one day......usually takes at least 2-3 to get better.

Throw some old towels/sweatshirts/rags in a small burlap/nylon bag and tie it closed with a piece of string. Shoot a fieldpoint into it to unload. this is cheaper, lighter, and much easier to pull the bolts out of than a foam block target. To keep the center from getting worn, open it up and stir the rags around from time to time. Last year I carried a block, but this works much better. I see the unloading after every hunt as an advantage over a regular bow because it gives you continuous in-season practice. That is something many conventional archers neglect much to their peril when it comes to wounding or missing deer.
if you want thump your Bible and suck on your crossbow like it's some kind of phallic symbol, that's fine....but why do you feel the need to denigrate the conventional archer in all of your posts? if you don't like it, that's fine, but why be disrespectful to the others if it serves no purpose?

I just point it at a pile of dirt and pray to god nothing bad happens....so far, so good.......do you really feel the need to take a dig at conventional archers in every one of your nonsensical posts?

Damn......how'd you view that that fast? Roadrunner or Fios?
optimum...one of the few advantages of life on Long Island.

That's what I thought...we have shale ground...blocks more convenient to me than an exploding carbon splinters going God knows where...
yeah, never crossed my mind until now......if you keep shooting the same bolt into the ground, it could potentially lead to a bad oucome.

Go to his house late this friday night. Crawl under his truck, & pull out his oil drain plug. Make sure you catch the oil in a jug so he doesn't get tipped off. Put the plug back in & leave. That would still not be enough to repay him.
I mean, that's what you could do if you were the vindictive type.
or have a lady friend call his wife and tell her she's been banging her husband....and then hang up.

I know it was a good hunt but it's not on my wall! I don't get to look at it everyday. And that was a once in a life time buck! Unless I want to go pay 3500!
had a similar thing happen to me....still haunts me till this day, it sucks.

hey, the Tyvek is upside down...don't think it's meant to work like that.
-
that decocking bolt can be easily made by putting a large washer behind a field point...that's what I'm gonna do!!
-
So do bolts from a cross bow do the same thing arrows do if shot while damaged ?
I would think so, can't be very safe.

Transportation of FirearmsActually was told otherwise by a ECO and two instructors. If I recall I think it may have even said in the Q&A in the regulations guide
A person may not transport or possess a shotgun, rifle or crossbow in or on a motor vehicle unless the firearm is unloaded in both chamber and magazine or the crossbow is unloaded or taken down. A loaded firearm may be carried or possessed in a motorboat while legally hunting migratory game birds.
A muzzleloader is considered unloaded when the cap is off the nipple, the primer is removed, the primer powder is removed from the flintlock pan, or the battery is not in an electric-fired muzzleloader.
A crossbow is considered unloaded when it is uncocked. A crossbow is considered taken down when the limbs have been removed from the stock, securely fastened in a case, or locked in a trunk.
you are correct!!! -
I was thinking of putting a judo point on one and shooting into the grass.....might work, might not.

Last year I would do this in the cube target ..they are small and easy to carry in your car....

Getting older stinks

yes, getting old does literally stink.......I was in an elderly couples house the other day and it can best be described as a cross between mothballs and urine.
