No always, no. I do wash all clothes hunting and non hunting as well as my blankets and sheets in Dead Down Wind laundry soap and spay my gear down with their scent eliminating spray as well. I do have a Scent-Lok suit I bought many years ago but it is huge on me now (I used to be close to 500 lbs. and sit at 320 and diminishing now) so the only time I wear it is over other clothes on cold days. I actually want to sell it.

There are some turkey hunters that will not hunt in the Spring, they say it is to easy and no challenge to get a turkey in the Spring. I disagree. On a side note I picked this up on ebay the other day, supposed to be in Tuesday. The Wild Turkey Biology & Management by James G Dickson. This will be my next purchase I think. Wild Turkey Harvest Management : Biology, Strategies, and Techniques, Paperback by . Fish and Wildlife Service (COR); Healy, William M.; Powell, Shawn M., ISBN 1484970233, ISBN-13 9781484970232, Like New Used, Free shipping The book’s objective was to synthesize what is known about the effects of hunting on wild turkey populations, and provide models for regulating harvest that provide ample hunting opportunity with minimal risk of overharvest. The book also reviews the biology of the species and the 3 basic strategies for harvesting wild turkeys.

Added video, got to 1:20 did not know how to focus at first.

Hope so, can't go out tomorrow, have to help with the chicken BBQ at the firehouse til 10:45 and then church at 11 and then go talk with a guy about bow hunting his land.
-
It would seem so. I went in here blind last night and set up a blind, turned out to be a good place, they started to pitch down not far from me, even got to see some land.
-
So today is the first time I have Fall hunted, had fun, saw a dozen turkey, all came to within 2-4 feet of me and only one even checked me out. (In a blind) I got there late and did not think I would see a thing but had them pitching out may 30-40 yards from me. Got to hear a kee-kee run for the first time, kinda neat. Lucky for them I do not shoot hens. Edit: Added video, skip to 1:20 I did not know I had to hit button second time to get it to focus.

I wrote this some time ago, I need to sit down and come up with some more lyrics. Set to the melody of Leaving on a Jet plane. A composition by me. - My bows all tuned I'm ready to go To get a deer with a well placed arrow Oh Lord, I hope I can set an arrow to fly. I'm going hunting in the morn' weather says it may be pourn' Oh man, I hope for some fresh venison to fry.
-
Well I am shooting much better so I am going out in the morning, I will limit myself to 20 yards though, I figure if I can hit a tennis ball from that range the vitals of a dear should be easy..... I hope. Goodnight.

Know of a good light to mount to a rifle for somebody looking to just start out? I will be using a .243 with a 50mm lens on it. Oh and good luck. -
Went looking for lookalikes and found this. https://insectlab.russell.wisc.edu/2015/12/08/was-that-a-kissing-bug/

Congratulations -
This one looks like the stink bugs I have always known, the one shown above this one looks more like a Box Elder flipped on it's back. By the way I lived the first 21 years of my life in Niagara County and had never seen or heard of them until I moved into Yates County, they seem to be all over the finger lakes region.

I am trying to get a reply from them on Facebook but nothing over the weekend, one did reply but said he was waiting for the boss to reply because he did not know but nothing since that. You are right, they are discontinued.

I am trying to find 3-6 of the old Crimson Talon XT broadheads, I was hoping one of the members may have some in huntable condition they might want to sell. My ex girlfriend lost my practice broadhead on me seeing that she can't remember where she moved the broadhead box and this week I lost another when I was practicing/tuning in with the broadheads so now I have to ruin another and that leads me with 3 to go hunting with assuming I feel I am shooting well enough to hunt as the season progresses. Can anybody help me out? I do not have the money to go out and buy a quality modern day broadhead.
-
Congratulations. Glad to see you stuffed his tongue back in his mouth for most of the pictures, I wish more people would, makes for better pictures.

Yes I will be careful, I did hurt my shoulder a bit pulling back the 70lb and then letting it down, still hunting a little from that so that is a major reason I went to 45 I would have gone to 40 if I could have with the compound, the recurve is set at 42 at 28" I was very surprised to learn my pull is only 26" on a recurve, I knew it would be shorter but did not think it would be that much shorter, my draw on a compound is 29" Much of my pain is due to an insatiable love of stupidity in my youth, to much football/goonball to much jumping off swing sets and to much jumping off of conveyors chained to ceilings onto stacks of hay to impress girls.

Thanks for the idea, I am pretty sure my deacon has a metal detector, I will give him a call tomorrow.

I understand what you mean bud. Way back in I guess it would be 2000 when I took the bow course one of the instructors brought in a crossbow, I could not hit the broadside of a barn with it but I could all 12 arrows in the bullseye and they would all be touching with my bow.
-
Thank you very much for the compliment, I was in the bow shop getting some stuff adjusted on the bow and picking up the string for my old recurve I am trying to learn, I made a few mistakes shooting that and actually hit the bullseye, the rest were high right. Also picked up some Judo points so I can go after some rabbit and got my arrows cut for that. Hoping I will be good enough to get one this year with either bow. I did find out that there was a slight problem with my rest, I think that is why I lost an arrow 2 days ago, I have to try to find that again tomorrow, it has a broadhead on it as I was trying to tune for hunting and myself and the landlord both have animals. I have been looking for that since the original post to this thread though I skipped today because I was hurting to much. Anybody know of a better way than dragging a rake behind you to find an arrow?

Other than those that are disabled or somehow physically unable to use a crossbow every single one that I've talked to have all said the same thing crossbows easy it's not hard like archery and for that reason I simply don't respect the crossbow. I would rather hunt them with my camera than hunting with a crossbow. Sent from my A574BL using Tapatalk

yeah I've been trying that I'm just not satisfied my groups aren't tight enough and consistent enough near the bullseye when I am grouping well it's not near the bullseye where it should be. I did discover that one of my site my vertical on the site is not right a screw is loose same as with the guy who owns it. Sent from my A574BL using Tapatalk
